PRES. OBAMA 5th STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS:
IGNORES BENGHAZI VICTIMS AND IRANIAN NUCLEAR THREAT
“After more than a year and the release of a scathing investigation by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, President Obama is still yet to hold anyone in his own administration responsible for the numerous security failures and vulnerability that led to the deaths of Ambassador Christ Stevens and three other Americans when terrorists attacked our facility in Benghazi on September 11, 2012.” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for Move America Forward. “Not only has the President failed to hold anyone in his own administration responsible, he has also not pursued or apprehended any of the suspects of the attack.”
“The fact that the President failed to even mention Benghazi with the father of one of the slain Navy SEALs was sitting in the audience is a slap in the face.” said Gonzalez, referring to Charles Woods, the father of fallen Navy SEAL Ty Woods, who accompanied Republican Congressman Jim Bridenstine (R-OK) to the State of the Union Address. “President Obama still has no answers for the families of the fallen, so he ignores them.”
“President Obama also took the opportunity to say ‘give diplomacy a chance’ on Iran. He claimed that his 6 moth deal would stop their nuclear program. While the President tried to sell this to the American public as a new era of rapprochement with an old foe, the truth is that the President’s deal gives Iran numerous benefits of cash and repeal of sanctions with no guarantees that their nuclear weapons program will slow down at all. The Iranians have bragged publicly that Obama’s deal does not stop them from pursuing uranium enrichment.” said Gonzalez. “The President continues to act like his deal makes the world a safer place when in reality it does the opposite. He also threatened to veto any new sanctions passed by Congress, despite the fact that polls show Americans overwhelmingly support sanctions on Iran.” concluded Gonzalez.
A new poll by the The Mellman Group released January 24, 2014 showed growing mistrust of President Obama’s deal with Iran. About 83% of respondents said they do not trust Iran to keep their word and 83% also responded that they favor continued economic sanctions on Iran despite President Obama’s plans to cut back on sanctions.
SENATE REPORT CONFIRMS BENGHAZI WAS
TERRORIST ATTACK AND PREVENTABLE
SACRAMENTO, Calif. –Move America Forward (MAF) agrees with the conclusions reached by the bipartisan Senate intelligence committee on the terrorist attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi Libya, September 11, 2012 which claimed the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens and 3 other Americans. That it was a clear terrorist attack from day one, our people were in danger and nothing was done about it. Not one person has been held accountable for the failure nor has anyone been brought to justice. Only an honest assessment and acknowledgement of the facts will prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again.
“We now know without a doubt that the theory put forth by Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton and others in the Obama administration, that the attack was actually a spontaneous protest that got out of hand, was entirely wrong.” said Communications Director Danny Gonzalez. “The Senate has determined that was a false narrative promulgated to provide political cover to Obama and his administration during election time, when news of such a massive security failure would have been damaging to President Obama’s campaign for a second term in office.”
“This report confirms what we have been saying all along, that the Benghazi attack was preventable, the leadership in the State Department failed to give our people the necessary security warranted by the heightened threat environment in Benghazi and that more could have been done to save the lives of our diplomats who came under attack. President Obama needs to come clean and publicly acknowledge the truth of the Senate’s findings and apologize for lying to American public for political gain. The American people deserve answers on why it was not labeled a terrorist attack from day one, why over a year later no one has been brought to justice and they want to know what will be done to ensure that these types of security failures never happen again. We want President Obama fulfill his empty promises and bring to justice the terrorists who murdered 4 Americans over a year ago, to stop ignoring threats to American security, and most of all to place security above political expediency.” concluded Gonzalez

Sacramento, Calif. – Move America Forward (MAF), the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, says the revelations in the new book by former Obama Secretary of Defense Robert Gates confirms that Obama’s politicized decisions on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have resulted in a disastrous foreign policy for the United States.
MAF also signaled approval of comments from Senators John McCain and Lindsay Graham to assign partial blame to Obama’s Administration in the disturbing resurgence of Al Qaeda in Iraq. Obama withdrew troops to meet a domestic political objective rather than America’s foreign policy interests.
“When militant Islamists with ties to Al Qaeda overran Fallujah in recent days, killing Iraqi police and civilians alike, it was a confirmation of what we’ve said all along – Obama’s withdrawal of troops was premature” said Danny Gonzalez, MAF communications director.
“This never would have happened if we had negotiated a State of Forces Agreement and insisted on a small residual force of American trainers and at least one highly trained rapid response team of warriors.”
Move America Forward sharply criticized President Obama in 2010 for taking credit for our troop’s successes in Iraq and the increased security that had brought violence levels down to their lowest point ever.
“Rather than negotiate an agreement that would have allowed a small force of American troops to remain in Iraq and ensure continued peace without Al Qaeda, President Obama’s administration chose instead to walk away from our commitments and pull all troops out.
“Due to his shortsightedness and his need to please the anti-military wing of his liberal party, President Obama has now taken Iraq back to 2005, before the surge, when the terrorist’s violence threatened to tear that country apart.”
“In light of Secretary Gate’s revelations that Obama doesn’t truly support the mission or believe in his own Afghanistan strategy, we fear the same pattern will emerge in Afghanistan if President Obama doesn’t learn from history – the success in how America ensured peace after WWII and Korea.”
“Now in Afghanistan, we are faced with the same difficult decision of how to decrease our involvement militarily without allowing another terrorist stronghold to develop that can threaten our security. It is time for sound foreign policy decisions, not more politics from Obama,” concluded Gonzalez.
Move America Forward, a registered 501(c)(3) charity, based in Sacramento, supports our troops and their missions in the war on terror. Move America Forward is supported by hundreds of thousands of pro-troop activists, veterans and military families across the nation. To date, they have shipped over 200 tons of care packages to our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Sacramento, Calif. – Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop advocacy organization expressed dismay at the news that the US has reached a short-sighted deal with the Iranians over their nuclear weapons program, which will further destabilize the Middle East and threaten US interests in the region.
“This deal is not a good first step as claimed, but it is a step in the wrong direction, ” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for Move America Forward. “Iran has consistently lied to the West and hid how much uranium they are enriching and are capable of enriching. Iran announced to the world that they were enriching Uranium in 2006 when it was already a well-known fact that they had been doing so since 2003. They were not truthful then, and they have continually resisted outside inspections to verify that they were not advancing a military objective of nuclear weapons. Lifting any of the economic sanctions makes no sense when it is based on their word that they’re going to stop enriching weapons grade uranium.”
“Since the Iranian regime continues to threaten our closest ally in the region, there should have been no agreement without giving Israel a seat at the negotiating table. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was forced to strongly and publicly denounce this agreement because their security is further impaired under this agreement, and American interests will be compromised if the Iranians are able to change the balance of power in the Middle East by becoming a nuclear power.” concluded Gonzalez.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, Move America Forward condemned a proposed deal being brokered between Iran and Secretary of State John Kerry in Geneva. The proposal has also been denounced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and numerous American legislators.
“Initial reports coming from numerous sources indicate that the deal John Kerry is working out with the Iranians would put America in a weaker bargaining position. It makes no sense to relax sanctions on Iran without requiring them to give up something in return. To do so would take away our only strong bargaining chip in future negotiations.” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the group.
“The fact that Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel said it was a ‘very, very bad deal’ after a meeting with Secretary Kerry is evidence enough that the plan he’s working on does not serve America’s interests in its current form. Iran needs to be held more accountable and be willing to give up their ability to enrich uranium to weapons grade purity. The current plan would not require Iran to turn over any uranium or shut down any of their enrichment facilities.
“Senator Ted Cruz of Texas rightly said that the US should negotiate from a position of strength, and we agree one hundred percent.” said Gonzalez “If we don’t demand it now, what’s the incentive for Iran to disarm later? They will have already got what they wanted and would have no reason to continue negotiations By making concessions and reducing sanctions but not requiring Iran to disarm, we would weaken our bargaining position and actually reduce the prospects of having Iran disarm in the future.” concluded Gonzalez.
PRO TROOP GROUP SAYS OBAMA STUMBLING WITH
“CONTRADICTORY, INCOHERENT STRATEGY” ON SYRIA
Sacramento, Calif. – The nation’s largest pro-troop grassroots group, Move America Forward, reacted to President Obama’s prepared remarks to the American public by questioning his leadership and the consistency of his strategy.
“Tonight President Obama reversed himself again when he asked Congress and the American people to wait on Russia before authorizing a military strike. This is a week after he asked Congress to authorize a military strike against Assad’s regime in Syria and claiming all diplomatic efforts had been exhausted. Confusing?” asked Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications. “We thought so too. It’s confusing, it’s muddled, and it’s contradictory and incoherent.”
The group points out that at several points in his short speech, the President presented conflicting arguments in favor and against taking action in Syria. It was not clear which was the right course. He then concluded that we would let Russia determine our policy based on their stated control over the Assad chemical weapons stockpile.
“The President said in his address that Assad’s regime poses no military threat to the United States, but he still claimed there is a national security interest for the United States in Syria when he clearly stated ‘Our ideals, principles, as well as our national security is at stake in Syria.’
“Either there is a threat or there isn’t.” said Gonzalez. “If there is no threat, then why are we risking American lives? If there is a threat, then why is President Obama relying on Russia instead of taking care of America’s security himself.
“He promised no troops on the ground, but what happens if Syria responds and attacks American interests? Is he then prepared to say that we won’t respond to a direct attack? The President delivered a stumbling address that left Americans as disinterested in taking military action now as ever.
“The President also recognized that Al Qaeda is in Syria and working against Assad. That remains to be a major concern to many Americans who don’t feel we should be helping the same terrorist organization that engineered the tragedy of 9/11. Yet on the eve of that anniversary, President Obama asked Americans to contemplate terrorist ascendency without an explanation as to why it helps us.” concluded Gonzalez.
Sacramento, Calif. – The nation’s largest pro-troop grassroots group, Move America Forward, came out strongly against the U.S. Senate Foreign Affairs Committee-passed resolution authorizing military action in Syria, but setting a 60-day limit.
“It would be wiser for Congress to either reject all military action or give President Obama the authority to exercise his authority as Commander-In-Chief without the burdens of ‘armchair Generals’ in Washington, said Danny Gonzalez, Communications Director for the group.
“We learned in past conflicts like Vietnam, and in President Obama’s confusing rules of engagement in Afghanistan, that the troops don’t need political interference. The American military is extremely good at what they do. If we give them an objective to complete and stay out of their way, they will accomplish it. The Senate should stay out of how they complete that mission; that is a job for the commanders on the ground and not the politicians in Washington.
“While we continue to oppose any military action in Syria, it certainly shouldn’t be done with political conditions by Congress that impinges on the President’s own war powers. We applaud the President and the Senate engaging in a debate before we risk the lives of our troops, but ultimately President Obama must show leadership and define the mission and take responsibility for it.
“We remain convinced that America has little to gain from a limited strike against Syria, and it is better to take no action than to send in the military in a way that is not likely to change the situation. If the military is deployed, we must not constrain them with rules or timetables. As we have already learned in Afghanistan and Iraq, timetables send the wrong signal to the enemy and shows that we are not committed to achieving our objectives. It is better to do nothing at all than to approve a half-hearted measure constrained by arbitrary timetables or rules of engagement that would ultimately achieve nothing,” Gonzalez concluded.

Traitor Bradley Manning Knew He Was Aiding the Enemy
Sacramento, Calif. – Move America Forward (MAF), the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, announced extreme disappointment that former Army Intelligence Analyst, Spc. Bradley Manning was acquitted of aiding the enemy despite the biggest leak of Military classified information in our nation’s history. Evidence suggests that Manning knew the classified U.S. intelligence reports he turned over to WikiLeaks would likely fall into enemy hands, including those of Osama Bin Laden himself, which investigators determined eventually happened.
“Army Specialist Bradley Manning is a traitor, and his claim of not knowing the release of over 700,000 classified reports, diplomatic cables and videos would end up in the hands of Al Qaeda and endanger the lives of our currently serving American Military is both incredibly naive and implausible. He not only has jeopardized American lives but also that of those Iraqi and Afghan nationals who were exposed and then hunted down by the terrorists for cooperating U.S. forces to fight Islamic terrorist insurgencies threatening the stability of Iraq and Afghanistan.” Scott Raab, Outreach Director of Move America Forward, continued to say “Manning betrayed his country, endangered his fellow servicemen and we look forward to a sentencing that will ensure he never walks free again.”
Manning was convicted of five espionage counts, five theft charges, a computer fraud charge and other military infractions. His sentencing is scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday July 31, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Move America Forward is a non-profit pro-troops organization with the mission of supporting our troops and their missions in the war on terror.

GROUP VISITED GUANTANAMO SAYS OBAMA MUST KEEP GITMO OPEN
Sacramento, Calif. – Move America Forward (MAF) the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, criticized President Obama’s decision to hire high-powered K street lawyer Clifford Sloan to renew the President’s efforts to close Guantanamo Bay, citing numerous failed attempts and security challenges.
“President Obama has made closing Guantanamo a priority only when it was necessary to please his very liberal base, but most of middle America don’t support closing this important military asset,” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for MAF. “Polls show that up wards of 63% of Americans want to keep Guantanamo Bay open, showing the failure of President Obama to convince them otherwise over the past 5 years.”
Move America Forward (MAF) sent a delegation to Guantanamo Bay in 2008 and concluded that the facility met and exceeded all standards of decency and respect to the prisoners held there, who are the most dangerous terrorist suspects in custody.
“When we toured GITMO in 2008 we saw that they’re allowed to play soccer, do art, eat McDonald’s and watch Harry Potter movies if they want. Only the most violent and dangerous detainees are kept isolated, and that’s based on their behavior. There is no torture or violation of human rights going on at GITMO” said Gonzalez.
“The President wrongly wants to treat terrorist as common criminals and insert them into the U.S. criminal justice systems and all of the rights afforded to American citizens. That is a disastrous approach because enemy combatants should be tried under a military justice system.
The group also cited the President’s previous failed attempts to find a prison on U.S. soil to relocate the prisoners. “When President Obama had Eric Holder visiting towns like Thomson, Illinois to find a prison to house the terrorists, the local population protested. We don’t want a GITMO on American soil, so where is President Obama going to send these dangerous terrorist suspects?”
MAF says it’s necessary to keep the prisoners under the watchful eye of the U.S. military and not a foreign government like the Yemenis. “In the past hundreds of Al Qaeda operatives or suspects held at GITMO were released to other countries for safekeeping. However many of these dangerous operatives were subsequently let free, then later found back on the battlefield. This has happened under President Bush and Obama. It is irresponsible to transfer terrorist suspects to a country like Yemen if we know that they are either unwilling or unable to keep them detained when they present a danger to American security or our troops in the Middle East,” said Gonzalez. “For all those reasons and more, President Obama must KEEP GITMO OPEN!”
