It’s been a Busy Summer for Move America Forward!

For Move America Forward summer has been sizzlin’ hot with activity so we thought we would take a little more time than usual to update you on all of our goings on!

Troopathon 10 – Care Packages for Our Heroes!

On June 29, 2017, MAF held our hugely popular Troopathon 10 live event broadcast in partnership with Newsmax TV. Troopathon came to you live from the state-of-the-arts Newsmax TV studios in Boca Raton Florida and simulcast on the internet.

Once again, Troopathon brought together the top-notch hosting talents of broadcast heavy-hitters Melanie Morgan, Rita Cosby and John Bachman!

Troopathon 10 “Care Packages for Our Heroes,” capped off a month-long fundraising event running through July 4th and culminating in a rebroadcast on Newsmax TV for Independence Day! Our goal is to send care packages to every deployed serviceman or woman overseas fighting the War on Terror and Troopathon allows us to reach thousands of troops thanks to all our great supporters.

Troopathon 10 culminated in a jammed packed 7-hour live broadcast interview show featuring pro-troop movie stars, TV personalities, elected officials, professional athletes, musicians, talk radio hosts and many other supporters who not only encouraged viewers to sponsor care packages for the troops serving overseas through the group’s website (www.troopathon.org) and a special call in number but also contributed thousands of dollars on their own.

Meet our Troopathon Hosts!

Melanie Morgan Move America Forward’s co-founder, award-winning radio talk show host, author, advocate, journalist, News Director and veteran Troopathon host. Melanie, brings her passion for our troops born of six generations of Morgan men serving in the military.

Rita Cosby Rita is a phenomenal Emmy Award winning journalist, news anchor, radio-host and best-selling author with strong ties to the military community. Just days before Troopathon Rita was honored with her record 5th Gracies Award spotlighting our fierce women in media!

John Bachman Once again we were thrilled to have Newsmax TV Senior Vice President and award winning journalist John Bachman back conducting live interviews and updates as one of our great co-hosts. John brings years of experience as a producer, anchor and reporter to the table coupled with a true love of our country and our troops

Troopathon 10 Rallied an Impressive list of our Biggest Pro-Troop Supporters Ever!

Go Big or Go Home!
Troopathon 10 set a hard to reach goal of $300,000. We knew that was going to be a big stretch but we knew our troops were counting on our support. We worked tirelessly reaching out to our faithful supporters and our celebrity friends. So, how did we do? How did you do?

And all we can say is Thank You!

We would like to say our work here is done, but imagine having to be away from your family for 6-12 months, missing birthdays, holidays or other important life events. These troops are still in harm\’s way in Afghanistan and Iraq where they\’re fighting ISIS, intent on destroying the West and the American Way of Life.

The weather in those countries is a scorching 100-110 degrees during the days when our troops are carrying packs averaging 60 pounds of gear! While our troops are over there covering our butts let’s make sure we do the same from home for them!

With approximately 18,000 troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, not to mention the small cadre of Special Forces in Syria, we cannot forget their continued service and sacrifice. The people who are taking time out of their busy careers to participate in Troopathon do so because they are so grateful for everything our troops do, risking their lives for the preservation of our Nation\’s freedom and liberty!”

Thanks to all who took the time to watch and respond to our drive to send our deployed troops much needed packages.

Big Congrats to our Duke Basketball Winner!

As part of our fund raising efforts for Troopathon 10, Move America Forward received a generous donation of a priceless autographed Duke University basketball signed by \”Coach K\” Mike Krzyzewski, head coach of the gold medal USA Olympic Basketball team and the National Champion Duke Blue Devils!

Our lucky Coach K winner, Larry P. of Greensboro North Carolina was thrilled to be selected to receive our Coach K basketball but honored to support our brave troops with his care package donation!

Weber Grill shows they’ve got Spirit! Weber Grill has once again
donated a Weber Spirit E-310 Grill in Support of Troopathon!

Thanks to big supporter Weber Grill for the donation of a Spirit E-310 gas grill. Our winner of this year’s grill, Steven P. from Millbrook, Alabama was excited to be chosen to receive this year’s Weber E-310 Spirit gas grill. Like some of our past winners, Steven has chosen to donate his winning grill to a deserving troop so they can enjoy many years of happy grilling. Thanks Steven, your American Spirit shines through and we will let you all know once our lucky service member has received their Weber E-310 Spirit grill!

Here at Move America Forward we are extremely proud of the work done by our team of committed local volunteers. With our Troopathon fundraiser over, these volunteers got busy packing up thousands of care packages sponsored by YOU.

First and foremost thank you to all our sponsors who ordered troop support packages and all the great volunteers who came down to help us assemble the actual care packages! Thank you to all the volunteers, everyone who spread the word and especially to our friends from Northern California Girl Scouts that took time to come down to help us pack. We had an incredible group full of familiar faces and people who have never visited us before. And they packed hundreds of packages for our waiting troops!

Newly Received Notes from Deployed Troops

Recently, we have seen a BIG surge in our Soldier Sign-up Program on our website. This program allows soldiers to sign-up to receive care packages from us.

With so many troops still overseas fighting the War on Terror, there is still an enormous need to support our men and women in uniform. There are up to 18,000 troops now deployed in Iraq (5,000) and Afghanistan (13,000), as well as some 500 special forces in Syria.

We are working hard to fulfill all the soldier sign-up requests and make sure that all our brave men and women of the military receive the care package that they requested!

As part of our Soldier Sign-Up Program, the troops can leave a message with some of their thoughts and feelings and share a little bit about themselves. Below are some recent notes and care package requests from troops on the front lines. They convey what it means to them personally, to serve and to receive support from you

Founded August 4, 1790 by Alexander Hamilton as the Revenue Cutter Service, The U.S. Coast Guard is one of America’s five armed services and traces its founding back to Secretary of the Treasury, Hamilton who authorized the construction of 10 ships to be used for enforcing tariffs, trade laws and to prevent smuggling. The Revenue Cutter Service was the predecessor the modern-day U.S. Coast Guard we know and love today.

The modern-day Coast Guard is the smallest of the armed services, yet performs a variety of tasks from search and rescue to maritime law enforcement.

Calling all Troops!
Signing up to receive packages is easy!

If you are deployed or have the address of a deployed military member, you can click here for our Military Sign Up Center to sign them up to receive one of our great care packages loaded with plenty of the TLC our soldiers need to remind them that people back home support their mission.
