Move America Forward Joins Community 5k \”Walk to Remember\” Event to Honor Fallen American Soldiers Including Local Elk Grove Hero

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Move America Forward (MAF) announced today that they will be participating in a local community event to honor troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The Eighth Annual Walk to Remember is a 5k course organized by the family of fallen local hero SFC Bryan E. Hall of Elk Grove, Calif. who gave his life in combat in Iraq in 2009 along with 4 other American troops. The family now holds the event every year to remember their beloved Bryan and raise money for a Memorial Scholarship in his name.

“We are honored and excited to be invited to take part in this great community event to honor our fallen heroes” said Scott Raab, Outreach Director, Move America Forward. “We will be walking the 5k ourselves and encouraging our local Sacramento volunteers to come out and participate in this great event. Without heroes like Army SFC Bryan Hall who give their lives to defend our freedoms, we wouldn\’t be able to live in the greatest and most prosperous country in human history, the United States of America. We are honored and humbled to support the family of Bryan Hall.\” said Raab.

Betty Hall is the mother of fallen soldier Bryan and organizes the 5k every year. \”While we honor Bryan and the four men who died that day, it is our focus to honor all veterans and those who are currently serving. It is important, and especially for young people, to understand, that freedom isn\’t really free; there is a price that has to be paid by both the soldiers and their families they leave behind.\”

Also attending will be US Navy pilot Louis Conter, who was is one of only six Pearl Harbor Survivors still living. Conter was aboard the USS Arizona when Pearl Harbor was bombed and he is coming to the event to meet with participants and sign autographs. The 5k walk is open to the public and proceeds are split between 2 Memorial Scholarship Funds, one of which is for the daughter of fallen soldier Bryan Hall.
