We were very happy to have Scott Raab bring along two military guests, SFC James Menard and SFC Brandon Mincey, both of these service members were recipients of MAF care packages during their past deployments.  The Gary Sinise Foundation Charity Golf Classic raised funds to benefit Veterans and First Responders. We share with Mr. Sinise in our dedication to our troops.

Halloween Candy Buyback Program

MOVE AMERICA FORWARD PARTNERS WITH NATIONAL HALLOWEEN BUY BACK PROGRAM TO SEND HALLOWEEN CARE PACKAGES TO DEPLOYED TROOPS OVERSEAS

Move America Forward is once again partnering with a national effort, the Halloween Candy Buyback Program, which brings together Dentists, Orthodontists, and other Oral healthcare professionals from around the country with the goal of getting candy to our troops.

“Move America Forward is a welcome addition to the Halloween Candy Buyback. As our primary distribution partner , it will allow more health organizations to participate in this great event.” said Dr. Chris Kammer, D.D.S, who is Founder of the official Halloween Candy Buyback. “At a time when childhood obesity is not improving in our country, programs like the Halloween Candy Buyback are needed more than ever.”

In 2017 as the West Coast resource for the Halloween Candy Buy Back Program, Move America Forward received over  10,000 pounds of candy from participating orthodontist, schools and other groups that wanted to help support our troops. This year as the primary partner on the national level we are hoping to double the amount of candy we receive for distribution to our troops.

Halloween is a holiday known for over-consumption of sweet treats which can cause damage to braces and result in tooth decay. The Halloween Candy Buyback encourages families to turn in their excess candy to a local participating school or oral health professional’s office. Some offices will make cash donations to local schools for the candy which will be used in Move America Forward care packages to the troops.

Thousands of brave soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen will benefit from receiving a care package from home with a little Halloween spirit inside. Move America Forward sends thousands of care packages a year to troops in war zones and wherever our troops are in need. The Halloween candy from participants of the Halloween Candy Buyback Program will increase the number of packages Move America Forward is able to ship this year.

With Monthly Smiles – Adopt a Troop Program, you sign up one time with a click of a button and each month a care package filled with all the goodies our troops love will be sent in your name. We understand that personal circumstances can change, so if you need to cancel, we understand. Lisa Baron, our Director of Troop Support personally oversees our Monthly Smiles Program, so once you join, you can expect to get a personal email and phone call from her.  She is always here to answer any questions you may have and over the years she has gotten to know many of her Monthly Smiles Adopt a Troop members quite well. She is always available by phone, email or text or your convenience.

How Do I Register a Service Member to Receive a Care Package?

Registering a soldier to receive support packages is easy. If you have the address of someone deployed on active military duty, sign them up at our Military Sign-Up Center and they’ll be eligible to receive packages.
