Everyone loves taking full advantage of a Labor Day three day weekend of fun in the sun, camping, going to the beach and catching some waves, or firing up the grill. But as those of us back home are enjoying our weekend, let’s not forget our troops in Afghanistan…ESPECIALLY ON LABOR DAY. They will not have the day off – they’ll be doing the same thing they do every day, defending freedom.

Let’s compare how our troops will be spending their Labor Day Weekend…
BACK HOME IN THE USA
Millions of Americans will attend religious services this weekend at synagogues, churches, temples and other houses of worship. Across the nation people listen to sermons, and kneel to pray for wealth, their health, a promotion, more money, a new car, a chance to hit that lotto number.
Is there anything better than a nice barbeque in the backyard or a picnic at the park?
Thousands this weekend flock to parks and will hang out in the patio out back grilling up delicious hot dogs and hamburgers.
OUR TROOPS OVERSEAS
In Afghanistan our troops will be praying too, not in big beautiful churches, but huddled together outside their trucks ready to go out and meet the enemy. They are praying that they make it back alive and live to see the day when they can see their loved ones again.
Our troops in the field have to make due with M.R.E.s that come with a meager hot entrée, and usually a piece of bread or cracker. Luckily the packages come with salt and pepper, but even that isn’t always enough to make these MREs more than barely edible.
BACK HOME IN THE USA
Don’t we all love to enjoy the outdoors? Back home we can enjoy a nice hike in the mountains and take in the sounds of the wildlife and the natural beauty of this magnificent land we live in.
In your leisure time, isn’t it nice to kick back and enjoy a day out on the lake fishing with your friends and family?
We love spending Labor Day Weekend by talking with friends and family, or taking a refreshing dip in the lake.
OUR TROOPS OVERSEAS
Our troops spend their days climbing huge mountains out in Afghanistan. In the oppressive heat of Afghanistan, our troops have to tough it out with only the supplies they can carry with them on those dangerous and long mountain climbs.
In Afghanistan, our troops don’t get to spend their free time fishing or watching the big game. They spend their free time cleaning their weapons and making sure their equipment is in tip top shape. Their lives depend on it.
The 419th CSSB is known as the WOLFPACK and has been deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq several times since the launching of the War on Terror.
Their role is providing battlefield mobility and transportation, getting our troops where they are needed most and making sure they have what they need to get the job done.
The 419th CSSB has recently deployed to Afghanistan in February and will continue to serve for months ahead. They need our support! So far we’ve raised $9,398 for our troops, so we have another $10,602 to go before we reach our goal of $20,000! With your help we can make this deadline but with less than two weeks left, we have to keep the support coming in steadily.
Nothing brings a serviceman or woman more joy than knowing that someone back home is thankful and thinking of them while they are on deployment. Care packages include a wonderful array of high quality food, snacks, and hygiene items that troops overseas consistently request. Click Here to Send One Now!

STAG ARMS Aims to Support Troops Overseas
DONATES RIFLE TO HELP RAISE OVER $300,000 ON TROOPATHON
Sacramento, Calif. – Move America Forward (MAF), the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization announced the winner of a huge giveaway from STAG ARMS to help promote Troopathon 7, a star-studded effort to send care packages to troops in Afghanistan. At the end of the fundraiser MAF collected $301,626 thanks, in part, to the generous support of STAG ARMS.
To help support TROOPATHON and send more care packages to the troops, Firearms Manufacturer STAG ARMS partnered with MAF to give away a FREE AR-15 rifle, valued at over $900. The winner, Wayne Dupree, an 8 year Air Force veteran who lives in Maryland, can choose any one of three available STAG ARMS models in left-handed or right-handed configuration.
“Winning this Stag Arms Rifle during Troopathon 2014 was the cake on the table for me but the icing was gathering social media together and giving them a way to make donations to my military brothers and sisters in the way of care packages.” said Mr. Dupree
“I was in the military for eight years and I know first hand what a care package will do especially in times when you are lonely or homesick. It was a great honor to have helped them and win this rifle. While in the USAF I was expert with the M-16 and .38 so this is something I will treasure always.” said Dupree, after being notified that he was the winner of the STAG ARMS AR-15 giveaway.
“Stag Arms has always been a supporter of the troops not just with discounts on purchases for our servicemen but in donations to pro-troop initiatives like Troopathon. We were honored to have their support and because of their generosity more troops overseas will receive support through care packages this Summer.” said Scott Raab, Operations Director in charge of coordinating care package shipments overseas. “Without wonderful sponsors like STAG ARMS we wouldn’t have been able to raise over $300,000 to support our troops.”
“Troopathon 7 – Care Packages for Our Heroes” was the 7th annual Troopathon event, an 8-hour long fundraiser bringing together pro-troop movie stars, TV personalities, elected officials, professional athletes, musicians, talk radio hosts and many other supporters to encourage viewers to sponsor care packages for the troops serving overseas through the group’s website (www.troopathon.org) or by phone at (866) 866-6372.
