2017 Year In Review

After the live Troopathon in June, you would think all the busy MAF staffers and volunteers would be relaxing with their feet up nut that is not how we roll!!  MAF was fortunate enough to have the entire Troopathon rebroadcast on Newsmax TV for 4th of July.

Thanks to Troopathon in June and the rebroadcast in July, MAF spent most of July packing and shipping out huge numbers of troop care packages,  thanks to groups like the Girl Scouts and others we were able to send out thousands of packages to our hard-working troops!

Ever since we first introduced K9 Care Packages back in 2012, we have been working on perfecting the mix of items, trying to find the combination that will be the most help to our K9 teams.

K9 teams are an extremely important part of our military in day to day operations. Dogs help guard bases and sniff out explosives that could be buried by the roadside. These bomb sniffing K9s save lives as those buried IEDs are the most dangerous thing to our troops. In August we once again highlighted the needs of our brave K9 troops to make sure they would receive to special treats, safety and training aids our four-legged troops deserve!

Move America Forward partnered with a national effort, the Halloween Candy Buyback Program, to bring together Dentists, Orthodontists, and other Oral healthcare professionals from around the country with the goal of getting candy to our troops.

Thousands of brave soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen benefited from receiving a care package from home with a little Halloween spirit inside. We sent hundreds of care packages to troops in war zones including the special Halloween candy from participants of the Halloween Candy Buyback Program.

November and Thanksgiving found MAF ramping up for another bust holiday season.  We were lucky enough to receive a HUGE donation from Best Selling Author Reid Lance Rosenthal. Reid is very passionate about the American Story and about our troops, so he donated thousands of his best-selling Threads Wes; An American Saga for inclusion in our care packages. Threads West is a multiple # 1 National, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble Best Selling series and the winner of twenty six National Awards. Thanks to Reid, our Troops will enjoy a great story before hitting the rack!

With the help of many volunteers, MAF rolled up our collective sleeves to make sure our deployed troops would not go empty handed at Christmas. At MAF we know there are so many troops looking for support and we just could not let them down.  We worked exhaustively packing thousands upon thousands of special holiday care packages. Thanks to our great sponsors we were able to closeout 2017 with one of our largest care package shipments ever.
