Obama Snubs Soldier Who Survived Fort Hood Massacre

President Obama laid out a dangerous foreign policy approach at his State of the Union Address on Tuesday. There were some important issues he ignored, other issues where he had a policy, but the wrong one. We are deeply concerned wit the President’s outlook for the next year while so many important foreign policy issues remain unclear. Now is the time that we should focus on our troops, every son or daughter serving deserves our unwavering support for all they do.

It has been more than 4 years since the Fort Hood Massacre, but President Obama still hasn’t recognized the shooting as a terrorist attack. On November 5, 2009, an Islamic extremist serving in the U.S. Army, Nidal Hassan turned his gun against his fellow soldiers and opened fire during a busy medical treatment center where troops were getting their last health check-up before being deployed to Afghanistan. Hasan shouted “Allahu Akbar” and opened fire on innocent troops who were unarmed.

Hassan killed 13 people (12 troops and 1 civilian) before finally being stopped by civilian police. He was shot 5 times but survived to stand trial. Despite mountains of evidence uncovered showing that Hassan had been radicalized by the Muslim cleric Anwar Awlaki and his murders were motivated by Islamic Jihad, the President still refuses to classify the Fort Hood Massacre as a terrorist attack.

One of the troops who was injured that in that attack, Matt Cooke, attended the State of the Union Address, but Obama never picked him out of the crowd to recognize his presence. Obama did not praise Cooke’s bravery for shielding his fellow soldiers from the bullets.

Doing so would have brought attention to the hundreds of military family members who still feel betrayed by Obama because his administration continues to classify the Ft. Hood massacre as “workplace violence”.

Specialist Cooke, who was shot 5 times by Hassan, continues to fight for justice and honesty in labeling the Ft. Hood massacre a terrorist attack, as it should be.

Last week, we told you about our problem and asked for help. We have over a thousand boxes just sitting in our warehouse packed with donated products, but we don’t have the postage to ship them overseas! Move America Forward staff and volunteers worked around the clock to pack and prepare all the extra donated product for shipping, but without postage they are doing no good for our brave troops overseas.

Move America Forward volunteers were hard at work today preparing packages and shipping them out to our troops in Afghanistan. Our volunteers worked hard all morning long packing almost 500 boxes full of coffee, cookies, beef jerky, Gatorade, and lots more goodies for our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines.

This packages are going straight to troops defending our freedom on the front lines in Afghanistan. There are almost 60,000 troops still fighting the Taliban and they need our help! Your donation will make a world of difference to a serviceman or woman who receives a care package from home complete with a personal message to let them know someone is thinking of them and grateful for their service.
