Pro-Troop Group: Iran Deal Has
“Move Holes Than Swiss Cheese”

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Move America Forward, the largest grassroots pro-troop organization in the U.S., said President Barack Obama’s nuclear weapons deal with Iran leaves more questions unanswered than instills confidence in a solid agreement to halt nuclear proliferation in the Middle East.

20150714_iranobamaPresident Obama claims the deal will effectively halt Iran’s nuclear ambitions for 10 years in exchange for sanction relief. Move America Forward fears the deal gives Iran too many concessions without getting concrete verification of an end to a nuclear weapons program in return.

“The deal President Obama’s administration finally negotiated with Iran looks to have more holes than Swiss cheese.” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the group. “One of the fundamental problems is that we lack confidence in President Obama to negotiate a favorable deal for the United States.  Everything he and his former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, have touched around the globe has turned out for the worst.

“By releasing billions of dollars in sanctions relief and given Iran’s radical history of disruptive policies in the Middle East, this deal will empower Iran with the cash and resources to turn the Middle East upside down, ensuring an Iranian hegemony that will threaten peace in the region for decades to come.

20150714_syriawar“In Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, and elsewhere, Iran’s influence and material support is fueling all the various bad actors who are making the Middle East boil over with violence. Part of Obama’s deal with Iran includes $100 billion in frozen assets than Iran will now have access to, plus billions more in sanction relief. Iran and the terrorist groups it supports will be able to wreak havoc on more innocents with that money, directly threatened our most cherished allies in the region.

“The most important and dangerous component, Iran’s centrifuges to make nuclear material, are untouched. Iran won’t be forced to dismantle any facilities, only shut down about two-thirds of them. Another key point that negotiators wanted was to stop Iran from researching more efficient centrifuges in the interim 10 year period. No word about that, so we fear they failed.

“The critical element that is supposed to keep Iran honest are the inspections, but this is where Obama’s deal seems the weakest. It gives Iran the option to appeal the inspections or delay them up to two weeks. So Iran will be allowed to continue playing games with inspectors and have ample time to hide anything they don’t want inspectors to see.  We saw this type of mischief with Iraq, which directly led us into a huge conflict.  Deals with untrustworthy actors will not hold.

“This deal also puts Israel in an incredibly tough position. We agree that Prime Minister Netanyahu’s concerns that the agreement is ‘a bad mistake of historic proportion’ may be correct.  We must stand with Israel, our most reliable ally in the Middle East.

“Finally, we are extremely disappointed that Obama refused to condition any deal with the release of innocent Americans who are held unlawfully by the Iranian authorities.  We firmly believe Obama should have made the release of Americans the first step in Iran demonstrating some commitment to the rule of law and engagement with the civilized world,” concluded Gonzalez.
