Move America Forward Takes on Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11”

Move America Forward Press Release

(SACRAMENTO/SAN FRANCISCO/SAN DIEGO) – A new organization dedicated to supporting America’s war on terrorism is asking Americans to stand up and voice their disgust with leftist filmmaker Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11.” They are urging movie theaters to drop the anti-American film from their movie lineup.

Many of the organizers of the new group, Move America Forward, were also the principals of the Defend Reagan Committee, which successfully persuaded CBS to drop the hateful miniseries, “The Reagans.” The new organization was started in May to rally public support for our troops, our military and the war on terrorism.

Move America Forward is asking Americans to contact movie theater executives to voice their displeasure towards movie theaters promoting a political advertisement that defames our military, insults our troops and attempts to undermine the public’s support for the War on Terror.

Movie Theater Executives
Contacted by Americans

The organization has listed contact information for leading movie theater chains and their top executives along with listings for smaller theaters who have already indicated that they will show the film.  The Move America Forward website has had over ONE MILLION [+1,365,000] hits since its launch in May with more than 420,000 hits in the past three days since the Michael Moore effort was launched.

The Right of Free Speech
Does Not Solely Belong to Moore

“Michael Moore has the right to free speech. But so do the millions of Americans who find his anti-military propaganda and attacks on our troops offensive,” said Howard Kaloogian, Chairman of Move America Forward.

Michael Moore:
Undermining the War on Terrorism

“Michael Moore’s deplorable antics are a stark contrast to the World War II generation which came together to defeat totalitarianism and protect American ideals. Hollywood rallied to the cause and turned out dozens of supportive movies to help the war effort,” said Kaloogian.

Kaloogian continued: “Today’s Hollywood turns out people like Michael Moore, who work to derail the war on terrorism and who insult the integrity and honor of our military.

“How does Michael Moore express his political opinions? He produces propaganda that masquerades as documentary.

“He undermines support for our troops. He gives aid and comfort to those who have brought terrorism to our shores by urging Americans to withdraw support from our troops and their brave and bold mission in the war against terrorism.

“Michael Moore takes us in the direction of losing this war simply to advance his political agenda,” Kaloogian concluded.

Moore has bragged that he tricked the military into accepting his film crews to be embedded with our troops in Iraq and stated that, “we were able to get film crews embedded with American troops without them knowing it was Michael Moore. They are totally f***ed.”

In Sunday’s San Francisco Chronicle Moore tried to recast the era of Vietnam when America turned its back on the men and women of the armed forces:

But the most disturbing images are of America’s fighting forces in Iraq appearing as dazed and confused as soldiers portrayed in the Vietnam movie, “Platoon.”

“The situation is like Vietnam. The conditions in Iraq are just terrible, ‘’ Moore said. “The soldiers know they are over there for a bull—reason.... Bush has created an atmosphere for those who serve under him to also behave in immoral ways.”

Move America Forward Vice Chair, Melanie Morgan (popular talk show host on powerhouse KSFO 560 AM San Francisco) noted that Moore has made it clear that he sees this movie as a campaign commercial designed to unseat Bush. While Moore supports campaign finance laws that limit others political contributions, he feels he is above the law and can do whatever he pleases.

“This movie is a campaign commercial against President Bush and should therefore be subject to campaign financing laws. It’s a movie filled with anti-American propaganda. It would be more appropriate to have it shown at Al Qaeda training camps rather than American movie theaters,” said Morgan.
