Move Over, MoveOn.org
“Move America Forward” is Launched to Rebuff Criticism of the War on Terrorism, the Military & Commander in Chief (SAN DIEGO) – Americans who are sick and tired of the attacks on our military, our commander in chief and the war against terrorism have united to launch a new national effort, “Move America Forward.” The group’s website - www.MoveAmericaForward.org -.has received over 500,000 hits in the first few days since the launch as Americans have responded to the organization’s focus of rebuffing biased media criticism of the war on terrorism. The organization has also received an overwhelming response to our efforts to rebuke certain left-leaning politicians who seek to undermine the President’s leadership of the war effort solely to advance their partisan political goals. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Taking the Message to the Airwaves The organization is actively involved in fundraising efforts to pay for a national television and radio ad campaign. The goal will be to tell Americans some of the good news concerning the War in Iraq that has not been reported by much of the media and to rally Americans to maintain the resolve to win the war against terrorism. Move America Forward is also working to support the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who find themselves in harm’s way to protect our national security. The group has named Saturday, September 11, 2004, as “Support the Troops & The War on Terror” day and will conduct a series of events around the nation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rebuking “Domestic Enemies” Like Nancy Pelosi Tens of thousands of members of Move America Forward participated in an effort to condemn Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi for her extraordinarily inappropriate comments that the President was “incompetent.” She told America’s enemies that our Commander in Chief was an “emperor” who “has no clothes.” Supporters of Move America Forward sent so many emails to Pelosi’s staff that they shut down their email accounts. Participants also sent letters to two of Pelosi’s largest contributors: E&J Gallo and Wells Fargo Bank. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why Move America Forward Was Launched Move America Forward was launched after it became clear that no one was speaking for the silent majority of Americans who believed that there has been an excess of “America Bashing” from certain members of the press corps and liberal political partisans. A recent CBS News poll found 61% of Americans felt that coverage of the recent Abu Gharib prison scandal was excessive, and a sizable number of Americans say they believe the biased way the news media has reported on the war on terrorism has hurt the nation. “What’s been most disturbing has been to see how readily the media has provided a platform to ‘Blame America First’ propaganda,” said Howard Kaloogian, Chairman of Move America Forward. “Our nation is at war, and yet a disturbing number of prominent attention-seekers are doing all they can to undermine the war effort, the military and our President. They unashamedly do it so as to advance their own political interests, not the interests of their country. “Trying to undermine our nation’s leadership in the war against terrorism just to defeat President Bush is no more respectable than when political activists tried to undermine the war against Facism in the 1940’s to defeat President Franklin Roosevelt,” Kaloogian concluded. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About the Leaders of Move America Forward The Chairman of Move America Forward, Former State Legislator, Howard Kaloogian, was the leader of the historic Recall Gray Davis Committee. The recall campaign resulted in the unseating of the first statewide elected official in California history.
