The only thing to fear is fear itself – or congressional turncoats

Warning: Graphic Images

A woman is partially buried in preparation for her stoning.

The cut-run-and-duck Democrats’ and bedwetting Republicans are readying to abandon post in Iraq. These so-called leaders of the spineless appeasement crowd are signing the death warrants of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, Iranians and, ultimately, Americans. As our troops fight in 130-degree heat in a hellish sandbox where Democrats helped send them, the Democrat leadership is now pushing for a quick pullout.

They are more worried about reelection than the safety of U.S. citizens and helpless people around the Middle East and Asia. After all innocents that die in a bloodbath such as the slaughter after the U.S. left Vietnam can’t vote for Gen. Pelosi or Sen. Hillary Clinton, a yes vote for war. They should consider how they plan to rule a land overrun by radical Muslim Jihadists.

All of this comes as the Associated Press leaked a report that allegedly shows the U.S. is failing in Iraq because the Iraqi government isn’t stabilizing itself per its agreements. This is another case of manifest destiny: the Democrats and their mouthpieces in the mainstream media said we lost in Iraq and that the Iraqi government would never work.

So that’s the truth, right?

Republicans are looking as desperate as coyotes in a bear-trap. They are chewing at their limbs and thrashing about instead of sitting still and using their frontal lobes. Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Ben Nelson, D-Neb., have drafted proposals that would force troops to abandon combat missions then move to the borders to protect Iraq from incoming terrorists.

But there is light in that thar tunnel:

During my recent stay in Paris, I interviewed Nader Nouri, chair of the Comite de defense pour une Pratique Democratique in Iran ( committee for a Democratic Iran). He said that the Iranian regime is teetering and could be overthrown if the United States flexed. Once Iran goes, the bloodshed inside Iraq will slow and, eventually, coagulate.

Appeasement and trying to reason with the Iranian regime is futile and dangerous for the world.

‘The policy of appeasement gave Mullahs three precious years to enrich Uranium,” Nouri said.

Yet, the public hangings, massive demonstrations, attacks on gas stations are all signs that the Iranian regime is weak – and “that is why they are so dangerous,” he added.

“All of this is because the regime is in its final phase,” Nouri said, a sentiment that many expatriates harbor.

When the U.S. went into Iraq, we disarmed the Iranian regime’s No. 1 enemy, the Mujahadeen-e-Khalq (MEK). The MEK had a couple thousand tanks and large arms. The U.S. had problems with the MEK because Saddam Hussein allowed the group to base itself inside Iraq. Why would Saddam do such a thing? Because he knew a great weapon of mass destruction when he saw one.

The MEK kept Saddam’s enemy, the Iranian Mullahs, at bay. They knew the politics of Iran, the landscape and had incredible intelligence. The U.S. put the MEK on its list of terrorist groups during the Clinton Administration. It remains there today, even though the MEK has given U.S. commanders in Iraq intelligence that has helped in this proxy war with Iran. The MEK also gave us the first credible intelligence of Iran’s uranium enrichment.

The politics of MEK’s designation are complex. You can read more about it at the American nonprofit Iran Policy Committee Website

The bottom line here is that we must exhaust all political solutions in this war against the Muslim Jihadists. That includes discussions with the MEK, who are ready to overthrow the Iranian regime as soon as we unshackle them.

This is not some crazy idea I dreamed up. GOP presidential candidate Tom Tancredo, Democrat Rep. Bob Filner of Southern California, and many others around the world see the benefits of political options that include the MEK.

But this option would take backbone, something that is lacking with others in Congress.

Meanwhile . . . Everybody must get stoned

Before we head out of the Middle East, we all should consider what is happening inside Iran. The regime is torturing, stoning, and publicly hanging children, women and others who engage in “immoral” behavior.

Associated Press
TEHRAN, Iran: A man convicted of adultery was stoned to death last week in a village in northern Iran, an Iranian judiciary spokesman said Tuesday, the first time in years that the country has confirmed such an execution.

Consider this description from an Iranian woman and a response from another whose mother was stoned to death:

A few weeks ago my mother, Mehrangiz Kar, wrote an article about stoning to death in Iran. She received many different feedbacks for her article that was published in Farsi. Among those responses we found an astonishing letter from an anonymous person whose mother was stoned to death twenty-six years ago. Since the strength of the words of this letter paralyzed my body and mind for a few minutes, I decided to quickly translate the text. According to Article 83 of the Islamic Penal Code of Iran, stoning to death has been declared a permissible punishment for a few different types of adultery.

And here’s that response from another woman whose mother was stoned to death:

Hello. I read your recent article about stoning to death. Reading your article reminded me of the bleeding bruises in my heart once again. You wrote about murdering by stoning? Have you ever held a bloody tool in your hands with which they have murdered your mother? Have you ever touched the bloody skin and hair of your mother who has just been killed in a deep hole?  Have you ever followed the line of your mother’s blood in order to find her corpse thrown at the back of a truck?  Have you ever seen the fresh grave of that dearest being with a small piece of paper on which they have written her name wrapped around a small branch of tree? Has anyone ever said a word about the children of the people who have been stoned to death?

I was fourteen and now I am forty. To quote psychologists, I am one of the most fortunate people on this planet. I am fortunate, because despite this contempt in my life I have been able to continue my higher education and find myself a wife, children and a credible job without letting a single black spot remain in my life. Do you even understand what it means to be the child of a person who has been shamefully stoned to death? If Islamic clerics tell you that you could not win over the Islamic laws, they have, indeed told you the truth.  My mother used to tell me that she had become a sex-worker in order to feed us and to support us. She used to command us in being real men. She used to tell us to stand on our own feet and to never lose our hope in Ali (the first imam in shiasm).

Seriously who would want to sell her body, to sell her sex to anonymous men except for those women who have no other way of feeding their children?

If the husband knows how to make money, the wife and the mother of the family does not have to go and seek customers. The economic situation needs to improve and single mothers or those mothers whose husbands do not have the ability or the willpower to work, should be able to seek help from the government.

You must establish an organization for supporting these women. It does not have to be a very rich organization in the beginning. No one has the right to condemn you for seeking financial support from different sources for these types of support organizations. Women like my mother who was eventually stoned to death need your help. They need the world’s help and support. Their forgotten families, too, need the world’s help. Help them!

Executing people for having not immoral actions is not going to have an effective result.

Tell me how many people have been executed and stoned to death since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution in Iran…What is the result of all of this violence other than the fact that the evil is now truly dominating our society?

I never forget the last words of my mother’s Islamic judge:

“I issued a verdict for stoning this woman to death so that other individuals learn a lesson from her doomed fate and to avoid sins of such nature. To execute by shooting would not have made her suffer enough!”

Alas. Twenty six years ago my mother was stoned to death before my eyes. Has these women’s tragic fate helped our society improve? Statistics show that the rates of prostitution and corruption have increased exponentially.
God bless you!

The useful idiots in Hollywood who wear the “Save Darfur” T-shirts and run commercials about the atrocities there committed by radical Muslim Jihadists might want to think about Iran. Iran has more power and thus can inflict more damage on us than the raving maniacs in Darfur. The Iranian regime is already killing our troops. We are already helping in Darfur, but we must help ourselves before we can continue helping the world.
