Over 3,000 Demand End to Government-Sponsored Anti-Military “Art”
(SACRAMENTO) – California’s Attorney General, Bill Lockyer is facing new criticism today for his support of the anti-American art display hanging on the first floor of his office building. Andy Nevis, the 15 year old Sacramento blogger, turned in over 3,000 signatures on petitions today demanding Attorney General Bill Lockyer remove the offensive anti-American art on display in his taxpayer supported office building. Nevis delivered the petitions Wednesday at 10:30 am, at the California Department of Justice office at 1300 I Street in Downtown Sacramento. The guard at the front desk called upstairs to Lockyer’s Executive Office and was told, “No Thanks” by Lockyer’s staff. He was asked to leave the petition at the front desk. Nevis said, “One doubts whether it will ever get to it’s destination, especially considering Bill Lockyer has shown he has little respect for the opinions of the people. However, we did acheive our main objective, which was to get attention for the revulsion by every-day Americans at the offensive display”. The petition demands that Locker, “Please remove the painting of the American flag in the toilet that is currently on display in your office. It is offensive to most of the residents of California and America. Material that is offensive to most people does not belong in a government, taxpayer-supported office.” Nevis, a 15 year old incoming sophomore in the PACE Program at John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento, has developed a blog that has been growing exponentially. The Washington Post, numerous radio talk shows and various bloggers have interviewed him. He was a founding member of The Western Alliance, a group of blogs that seeks to make a difference in local and national politics. After getting more and more wrapped up in blogging, he decided to start his own, www.cahsconservative.blogspot.com, in February 2005. Two weeks ago Move America Forward and powerhouse radio station KFBK 1530 put together an extremely successful “I LOVE AMERICA” art exhibit and Rally” in front of the Attorney General’s Office. Hundreds of people gathered to protest the offensive artwork in the AG’s office and celebrate the pro-American art on display on the sidewalk. The pro-American art is now being shipped to American military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan with shipments of coffee and cookies.
