Code Pink shutters doors As Support Dropped for the Radical Group

A couple of Marine Corps supporters stopped by to bid farewell to the Code Pink headquarters in Albany, Calif. The Code Pink agitators - known for outrageous Pepto Bismol clothing and even more outrageous language and rude, obnoxious behavior – lost their home in the very liberal Bay Area. They held a going out of business sale.
Code Pink was the vile group that attacked our Marines and tried to drive them out of Berkeley. Move America Forward and thousands of our patriotic friends stood up to Code Pink in a historic showdown in Berkeley. The pro-troop patriots still stand strong and the Code Pink gaggle of agitators flew the coop.

I’ve done some research and found that Code Pink was looking down the barrel at homelessness for a while.  Here’s something from their

title="website:">website:

In July of ‘06, we launched an SOS campaign to Save our Site on Solano Ave. Our wonderful CodePINK office on Solano Ave was in danger of closing unless we could find 24 of you who were willing & able to pledge $50 per month - more if you can, less if you can’t - to keep open our site! Many people generously stepped up to the plate with both pledges and one-time contributions to help support our office. “

Get the idea? These self-described witches didn’t have the support they claimed. They were failing for several years – not long after they launched the rag-tag group.
Here’s more of their sadsack story:

Do we want to maintain an office in the East Bay?
The future of our CodePINK office is in jeopardy. And the future of our office is in our hands!
Let’s talk! Do we really want to support a central location for meeting?
for storing supplies, banners, merchandise?
for gathering to make props, flyers, banners, etc.?
for a phone line, computer & printer?
for phone banking?
for updating the web site & calendar?
for viewing documentaries, movies?
for a place to strategize, plan, practice actions, theater, & events?
for providing a viable visible location for the community?
for providing a bulletin board for announcements, etc.?
for activists to sign-up, come to, volunteer at?
for activist trainings & workshops?
for the general public to drop in for information & to sign up?

The answer is: No, we don’t want a central location for anti-military agitators to hold meetings and hatch new anti-American plans.

Good riddance. And to our Marines who still hold the fort in Berkeley: Semper Fi!!!!

Americans hand over Another Iraqi Province

The United States and her allies are still moving forward in Iraq, with ony five provinces still under security by Americans.
The Los Angeles Times reports:

Reporting from Kut, Iraq—The U.S. military handed security responsibility for Wasit province to Iraqi authorities Wednesday, putting Baghdad in full control of 13 of the country’s 18 provinces, including all of those in the mostly Shiite Muslim south.

U.S. and Iraqi forces have been jointly seeking to shut down arms smuggling routes from Iran that use Wasit as a transit point before the weapons are taken elsewhere in Iraq. The weapons are thought to be going to Shiite militant groups.

Mowaffak Rubaie, the Iraqi national security advisor, lauded Wasit’s Iraqi security forces when he addressed the transfer ceremony in the provincial capital, Kut, 100 miles southeast of Baghdad.

Wasit borders Iran and was a stronghold of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada Sadr’s Mahdi Army militia before U.S.-backed Iraqi forces cracked down this year.

The No. 2 U.S. commander in Iraq, Army Lt. Gen. Lloyd Austin, said at the ceremony that Wasit in March saw a weekly average of as many as 18 attacks but now goes weeks without an incident.

British Troops Almost Done Cleaning House in Iraq; Most Home in 18 Months

The British Mirror reports that the country’s troops have done such a good job along side America’s troops in Iraq, that British troops will soon be going home.

Here’s the report:

Most British troops should be home from Iraq within 18 months, new Defence Secretary John Hutton said yesterday.

And the war will finally be over by June 2010 when our forces will be “very substantially withdrawn from Basra”.

There are still around 4,000 soldiers stationed on the outskirts of the southern city, more than five years after the invasion.

But Mr Hutton told MPs: “I think there is no doubt at all that the situation in Basra has been completely transformed.”

He said the UK force is on course to hand over its last base, Basra airport, by the end of this year.

Then in early 2009, a rapid drop in troop numbers is expected.

Mr Hutton said: “I think we can look forward to a very substantial change in mission for UK forces in Iraq during the first half of next year.”

Britain is expected to keep dozens in Iraq to train the army and police. And Mr Hutton stressed that withdrawals would remain subject to conditions on the ground – but he said he was “optimistic”.

And he agreed it would be right to expect British forces to be “very substantially withdrawn” when the next general election takes place in Iraq. The latest possible date for that is June 2010. Mr Hutton was appearing before a joint hearing of the Commons Defence and Foreign Affairs select committees.

It was the first time he had been grilled by MPs since landing his dream job at the Ministry of Defence.

One of his first actions was to fly to Iraq to see the troops. MPs heard there is still a threat from Iranian-backed militias. The daily rocket attacks on the air base have ended as militant Shia groups like the Jaish al-Mahdi keep their heads down.

But Lieut Gen Peter Wall, Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff, warned they had “not gone away for good”.

He said: “They may well be receiving specialist training, probably sponsored by the Iranians.”

Mr Hutton said that there was a need to be “very vigilant” about Iran’s involvement.

He added: “It is totally unacceptable for foreign countries to be supporting armed militia groups outside of the political process.

American Military, Afghanistan and Pakistan Work Together to Route Terrorists

VOA Photo: U.S. Brig. Gen. Mark Milley, right, with Pakistani Army officer at the Khyber Pass Coordination Center in Afghanistan

The terrorists in AFghanistan are stepping up attacks as some of the bad guys whom our troops ran out of Iraq have landed in Afghanistan. Not so fast, Mr. Terrorist. The Pakistani Army, Afghanistan’s and America’s troops are joining hands to stop the terrorir, according to the VOA.

Here’s the story:

Mutual distrust between Afghanistan and Pakistan has hampered efforts to combat terrorism along their common border. That has led to calls for joint patrols, along with international troops. While that has yet to happen, Afghan and Pakistani soldiers, along with U.S. forces, are working and living alongside each other in a new military facility in the Khyber Pass on the Afghan side of the border. VOA Correspondent Steve Herman was given a rare look inside the first Joint Border Coordination Center and files this report.

This lawless area, for years, has been home to al-Qaida, Taliban and other insurgents intent on undermining the governments on both sides of the border, as well as attacking the 70,000 international troops in Afghanistan.

In order to coordinate efforts to patrol the region and fight terrorism, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the United States have established the first of six planned border coordination centers.

The first center, along the fabled Khyber Pass on the Afghan side of the border, opened in late March. Here, Afghan, Pakistani and American forces work, live and eat together. They communicate in English, Dari and Pashto with the help of interpreters.

Afghan Army Brigadier General Abdul Rahim Faizi
Afghan Army Brigadier General Abdul Rahim Faizi says this allows soldiers from the three countries to gain mutual understanding by working side-by-side.

General Faizi says, those working together in the coordination center can achieve more accurate aerial and artillery targeting of the common enemy.

U.S. Army Brigadier General Mark Milley explains that this first center is helping to overcome problems that resulted from lack of coordination along the border, including friendly-fire incidents.

“It coordinates activities between Pakistan, the Afghan national security forces, ISAF [International Security Assistance Force] Regional Command-East forces along the border, in order to prevent them from having incidents of conflict between each other and in order to focus their efforts against the enemy.”
For too long, the area has been a virtual no-man’s land and disagreements remain on precise national boundaries.

Afghan Brigadier General Faizi says the initial coordination center in the Khyber Pass is meant to reverse the natural advantage the enemy has enjoyed.

General Faizi says the very difficult terrain has allowed terrorists to cross back and forth without detection. But the tripartite center allows coordination with local community sources, giving the armies the ability to respond immediately against those with ill intent.

Each month, one-star generals from the three countries meet at the Khyber Pass to discuss how things are going and refine the process.

There are calls for the Afghans and Pakistanis to also work with the international coalition for joint patrols along the border.

U.S. Brig. Gen. Mark Milley, right, with Pakistani Army officer at the Khyber Pass Coordination Center in Afghanistan
The U.S. Army’s General Milley says the border coordination centers could be a first step in that direction.

“That may translate into joint military operations. It’s hard to tell what direction that’ll take and only time will tell. But that clearly is a possibility that the foundation of cooperation is being built.”

Experts say that any of the armies acting alone would not be able to police the 2,500 kilometer long border.

General Milley says the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force, or ISAF, and the Afghan and Pakistani militaries must fight the border battle together.

“This is a regional problem. This is a regional insurgency. It straddles both sides of an international border,” he said. “And in order to have ultimate success at the end of the day, whenever the end of the day is, it’s going to require a very cooperative effort between both Afghanistan and Pakistan and ISAF on both sides of this border simultaneously.”

The vested interest for the U.S.-led coalition and the NATO forces is not only the immediate neighborhood. Intelligence analysts say that by neutralizing insurgents along the border, they can prevent al-Qaida attacks in other parts of the world because the remote terrain remains a planning center and training ground for global terrorist missions.

Pink Retreat: Good Ole USA Wins Again!!!!

MAf Chairman Melanie Morgan facing off with the Head Code Pinko

We hate to gloat, but . . . .
Code Pink, the leftists anti-American hippies who dress in Pepto Bismol pink and who tried to run the Marines out of Berkeley, have retreated. We at Move America Forward lead the charge against them when they attacked our Marines. Now Code Pink is having a “going out of business sale.”

From Code Pink:

We must close our CodePINK office, 1248 Solano Ave., Albany. Come to our EVERYTHING MUST GO Moving Sale from noon until 7:00pm Tuesday Oct 28th thru Thursday Oct 30th!

All the office furniture, display cabinets, tschotkes, and all the wonderful outdoor furniture and fixings as well - not to mention CodePINK memorabilia and merchandise - will be on sale!

Come get your treasure and help us close this part of our chapter.

What was worse about this entire mess was the Berkeley City Council gave the Code Pink radicals free permits to park in front of the Marine recruiting center and to raise a ruckus there. But when MAF asked for free permits to redress our government at City Hall, Mayor Tom Bates refused. Thousands of patriots from across the United States came to Berkeley to back our Marines. They came by planes, trains and Harleys, and we pushed back.

They carried American flags:

And lots of love for the United States of America:

The city eventually revoked their gift of public funds to Code Pink, and now the self-described witches are revving up their broomsticks and getting out of town. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that Move America Forward put together a Sedition Report and handed it over to the FBI and the U.S. Attorney General, whose office has launched in an investigation into the reign of terror that Code Pink and other anarchist groups visited upon recruiting centers across the United States.
I want to thank all of the veterans, students, people with disabilities, and patriots of all creeds and colors who joined us in pushing the Code Pinkos out of town.  Now if we can just send them back to whatever planet they came from!!!
