Here at the Move America Forward Daily Blog we chronicle the good news on the War on Terrorism you might
not have heard about on the evening news. We also shine the spotlight on those whose conduct against our
country and our military is unbecoming.

Day 8 - Lubbock, Texas
December 3
Well boys and girls we just had a splendid rally here in Lubbock, Texas!
First things first, I have one complaint, it was a bit CHILLY! Diana, who pretty much always has to wear a big puffy jacket in the mornings even if the sun is out, was freezing. I think I’m pretty good about dealing with the cold, but I had to wear a hooded sweater with another jacket over that. I was wishing I had some gloves too!
But as always, despite any minor discomforts, the important thing was getting out the message. And Move America Forward spokespersons were up to the task in Lubbock. The Lubbock area war memorial is a tribute to veterans that locals can be proud of. Unlike a few other memorials that I have visited, ones that were very nice looking , stylish and modern, Lubbock’s war memorial consisted mainly of bricks in the ground with soldiers names on them. I think I can tell that whoever the architect and visionary was, they wanted to concentrate more on showing the sacrifice and making tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives than making a big deal of onyx rock. Each red brick had a name, a rank, and a date. Some had a little more information. But we knew what that date meant. What made it powerful was not the fact that it was made of bricks or the lack of onyx; it was the sheer numbers of bricks. They were all over , on channels flowing up towards the center where they swirled around and around the monument, then back down , tapering off around the area where the crowd gathered. They needed extra space so they started n entirely new wall out a little separated but still part of the overall memorial.
One particular guest of honor we had at this event was the Red Raiders mascot who was there shaking hands, hugging and stayed to watch the speeches. Of course , I never got to talk to the mascot myself, but I remember going to school and working at the capitol of Texas with s few people who had gone to Texas Tec h so I was a little excited to see the red raiders there.
Another guest we had who we were very lucky to talk to, and really grateful for was a young man who informed us that he was shipping out to join the Navy the very next morning. It’s people like that young man who keep our military running strong. I would never take away anything from those who signed up after 9/11, but it’s one thing to sign up when everyone was motivated to come out and fight back against an enemy that was seen as an eminent threat to the safety of our country.
Today, the nation is under no less an eminent threat, but over the years the war on terror, especially with the help of the media, has been made into a confusing and convoluted issue that would likely discourage a lot of Americas from joining. Who would join up to fight a war that the media SAYS everyone in your country hates? Why would you sign up for a war that half of our politicians CLAIM is based on a lie? Why would you volunteer to put yourself into the line of fire, during a conflict which all these protesters CRY OUT that we are losing, that our men are dying left and right. What kind of insane, over-nationalistic fool would sign up for such an illogical mission, against such horrible odds…according to those on the left? The answer is men like this young man. Men of honor, men of principle, men of purpose…true patriots. They know what popular OPINION says the ODDS are… but they also know the STAKES, and they say…for America …SEND ME!
