not have heard about on the evening news. We also shine the spotlight on those whose conduct against our
country and our military is unbecoming.

Big Week Coming Up
This is going to be a really big week for the UN on Capitol Hill. On Thursday, John Bolton’s nomination to be UN ambassador will come up (sigh, again) in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. If it’s voted out to the floor, it will pass quickly. To see just why we need a tough guy—or nobody at all—in the UN job, check out my column in today’s New York Post.
If that weren’t enough for one week, Congress has to deal with Paul Volcker’s absurd request to halt its own investigations into the Oil-for-Food-for-Bribes-for-Weapons scam. I suggest they tell Mr. Volcker—in diplomatic but firm terms—to get lost. Check out the column in today’s American Spectator.
The problems in the UN are tough ones, and dealing with them will be a disagreeable task. If we can’t get a tough guy like John Bolton into that post, we probably should just leave it vacant. Maybe we should send some low-ranking bureaucrat to be our representative (without ambassadorial rank). He could sit there reading sci-fi novels, only raising his head to veto whatever nonsense was the business of the day. Think about that. It mightn’t be a bad way to go.
