Accurate War Coverage - for Free!!

.

Michael Yon has selflessly gone into the war zone of Iraq and brought the world fair, accurate, timely coverage of the war. Much of this has been lacking among the mainstream media.
As a longtime newspaper editor, I know the costs to bring news to readers. So I am stunned and grateful to Michael Yon, who has offered newspapers that belong to the National Newspaper Association (NNA) his work – for free. His aim is to get accurate, compelling war coverage into the American home. Go here for Yon’s offer.

All describe the bizarro-world contrast between what most Americans seem to think is happening in Iraq versus what is really happening in Iraq. Knowing this disconnect exists and experiencing it directly are two separate matters. It’s like the difference between holding the remote control during the telecast of a volcanic eruption on some distant island (and then flipping the channel), versus running for survival from a wretch of molten lava that just engulfed your car.

Talk about a win-win situation. The NNA is a good organization – and I’m not just saying that because it gave me an award for my column writing. Its member newspapers reach into the heart of America, where readers are hungry for the truth about the war. Yon tells the entire story – the good, bad, ugly, bloody and honesty of America’s battle to protect herself for Muslim Jihadists. It is the fight of our generation, and Yon knows how to cut through the rhetoric. He is also a skilled photographer.

Every NNA newspaper should take Yon up on his offer. It would be silly to do otherwise. This is first-hand stuff and it’s FREE! Readers should call their local newspaper, speak to the editor or publisher, and point them to Yon’s offer. They will win more readers in a time when consumers are skeptical of the press and especially reporting from Iraq.
