4:00 p.m. Begin setting up of “American Remembers” Event

5:00 p.m.  KPFA 94.1 FM Berkeley interviews Gold Star parents about the 9/11 commemorative event that will take place that evening at the State Capitol.

5:30-7:30 p.m “K Street Ramblers” play

6:00 p.m.  KUVS TV-19 Sacramento (Univision) broadcasts live from the State Capitol grounds to preview the “America Remembers 9/11” event that will take place in 1.5 hours.

7:10 p.m.  San Francisco Chronicle talks to Melanie Morgan about what is expected to take place that evening.

7:30 p.m. Bill Dixon of the “K Street Ramblers” introduces fifteen year old Tess Evans an accomplished singer of Jazz, Blues, and R&B music who has sung at various events in Northern California, and plans to sing professionally. 

7:32 p.m. “America The Beautiful” Tessa Evans

7:35 p.m.  Emcee “Brad Bonar” of Bonar Entertainment will then begin by opening of
“America Remembers”, he will then introduce the United States Naval Sea
Cadet Corps and Kaweah Angel who will then sing the National Anthem.

7:37 p.m. Brad Bonar introduces Chaplain Mindy Russell of the Sacramento Police Department, who will give invocation for “America Remembers 9/11.” Ms. Russell was one of the first responders sent to help in the rescue & recovery efforts of the 9/11 attacks in New York City.

John Ubaldi introduces Mike Anderson (Gold Star Father) Marine Cpl.  Michael D. Anderson 21, of Modesto, California. Anderson died as result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Died on December 14, 2004.

To do in our communities.

9:25 p.m.  Mark Williams leads the assembled crowd in the lighting of their candle.  He asks that a moment of silence be observed to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.  The crowd becomes hushed with silence, as hundreds of candles are simultaneously lit, setting the western quadrant of the California State Capitol Park grounds into shimmering sea of flickering candlelight.
