Vets for Freedom Tour turned away from High School in Minneapolis

Several news sources recently reported the canceling of an event – part of the Vets for Freedom “National Heroes Tour” that was planned for Tuesday, March 25th.

http://www.startribune.com/politics/local/16971116.html

The event was supposed to take place at Forest Lake High School where Pete Hegseth actually graduated from. After graduating from that Minnesota high school, Pete went on to Princeton University, graduated from there and then served his country honorably in the 101st Airborne Division, US Army.

After fighting in Iraq and serving a tour in Guantanamo Bay, Pete returned to the US with a Bronze Star for his service and became Executive Director and founding member of Vets for Freedom, one of the premier pro-troop organization in the country.

The Vets for Freedom “Heroes Tour” -which is now underway- plans to visit 20 cities across the country and is currently going through Iowa. On Tuesday, almost halfway through the tour, the Heroes Tour was supposed to stop at Captain Hegseths’ old high school to talk with students about the honor and vital importance of military service to one’s country.

But now we see how Forest Lake treats it’s alumni, as the schools administration caved after receiving about a dozen or so concerned calls from area residents. There were naturally several anti-war groups planning to protest the visit but that should not be an excuse to silence any one group.

Here is an excerpt from this article about the incident

Steve Massey, the school principal, said the decision to cancel was prompted by concerns that the event was becoming political rather than educational and therefore was not suitable for a public school.

He said the school had received several phone calls from parents and others, some of whom indicated that they may stage a protest if the event took place.

“The event was structured to be an academic classroom discussion around military service. We thought we’d provide an opportunity for kids to learn about service in the context of our history classes,” Massey said. “As the day progressed, it became clear that this was becoming a political event ... which would be inappropriate in a public setting.

What I don’t get is that the Vets for Freedom delegation made it clear that they understood the fact that a school has to leave politics out of the classroom but that doesn’t mean that differing perspectives cannot be articulated.

These guys are all decorated heroes of the Iraq war, a war that is of enormous importance to America’s future whether you agree with it or not and this High School Principal and his staff have the nerve to say that their words and perspectives on the experience of military service is political and improper for a school?

The Berkeley City Council received 24,000 e-mails against the action they took against the US Marine Corps recruiters, and only 2,000 emails in support of their actions, yet they STILL refused to apologize.

The principal of this school received a dozen phone calls to voice concerns and he cancels the event? Bias.

Pete had this to say:

I think it’s extremely unfortunate that a school would bow to the political pressure of outside groups and not bring in a veterans organization,” Hegseth said. “Are we saying that patriotism and duty and honor have no place in our public schools?”

Yes, Pete, I think that’s what these boneheads think… and it’s just another slap in the face from a public institution –which should not be taking sides—against any group that represents patriotism, service to country, and honor.

Exhaustive list of ties between Iran and al-Qaeda: National Review Reports

I just read an amazing report collected by Christopher Holton of the National Review Online that details some of the more alarming facts presented from dozens of sources that details the many, many dealings and ties between Iran and the terrorist organization al-Qaeda.

Many of the earliest reports of these dealings come from the 9/11 Comission report, followed by newer information that has come to light during the Iraq war and cited through many different news services.

Read the comprehensive repot HERE: National Review Online

Here are a few highlights:

Once Osama Bin Laden moved from Sudan to Afghanistan and established terrorist training camps there, Iran facilitated the transit of jihadists to al-Qaeda training camps via Iran. Among other things, Iran did not stamp their passports when they passed through Iran on their way to Afghanistan. This made it impossible for countries to know when someone had attended a training camp in Afghanistan because there was no record. This policy particularly benefited Saudi members of al-Qaeda, and the Commission reported that 8 to 10 of the Saudi 9-11 hijackers had transited through Iran.

In January 2007, Eli Lake reported in the New York Sun that U.S. forces had captured documents detailing Iranian activities in Iraq, including the fact that Iran’s infamous Revolutionary Guards Quds Force was working with al-Qaeda there.

Finally, in November of 2006, a United Nations report included information that Iran had provided the Sunni Islamic Courts in Somalia — a group that has since been linked to al-Qaeda — with “shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles, grenade launchers, machine guns, ammunition, medicine, uniforms and other supplies.” The U.N. report also said that Iran may have sought uranium in Somalia.

That 80+ page report is available for full download from the MAF website here: Somalia UN Report 2006

Peaceful Protesters Show Love by Slapping Blogger

On Saturday, March 22, 2008, at a pro-troop rally in West Chester Pennsylvania, a member Chester County Peace Movement (CCPM) was arrested after slapping a Citizen Journalist twice in the face, Digital Journal reports.

Move America Forward Chairman Melanie Morgan was one of the first to report the attack at MelanieMorgan.com

The blogger, Skye, also runs a blog called MidnightBlue, where she says, “Snarky retorts, name calling and mis characterizations by the CCPM are common place events in my 7 month documentary of this rally. Yesterday crossed the line, when I was struck twice by a peace protester. I can deal with all the above, but will NOT tolerate any form of violence against my person. I am consulting legal advice on this matter.”

Patriots must use all legal means to stop this violence and madness. We stand with Skye as she pushes a legal case against her attackers.

“Peace” Protesters’ Bloody “Massacre” on Easter Service

“Peace” Protesters’ Bloody “Massacre” on Easter Service

Six “anti-war” cretins went to a Catholic Church service on the most Holy Day on the Christian calendar and shouted their insane rhetoric before squirting fake blood on the parishioners wearing their Easter best.

Unlike many attacks by “peaceniks,” these fools will face some time in the Hoosegow.

The Chicago Tribune reports:

Six people were arrested at Holy Name parish’s auditorium Sunday after disrupting an Easter mass to protest the Iraq war.

The group—whose female and male members identified themselves as Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War—stood up at the beginning of Cardinal Francis George’s homily and shouted their opposition to the conflict, which marked its fifth anniversary last week. As security guards and ushers tried to remove them from the service, the demonstrators squirted fake blood on themselves and parishioners dressed in their Easter finery.

The red substance, which one protester later described as “stage blood,” initially drew gasps and a few terrified yelps from the 600 worshipers at the mass. The shock, however, quickly transformed into anger as people booed the six while they were escorted from the parish auditorium.

The anti-war contingent of smelly hippies and Satan-worshipers are desperate because the United States is winning in Iraq, the general public recognizes the win, and even their handmaidens in Congress haven’t stopped the War on Terror.

The protesters were all charged with felony criminal damage to property and two counts of simple battery for squirting the blood around the auditorium and onto worshipers’ clothes, authorities said. Chicago police identified the six arrested as Donte D. Smith, 18; Ephran Ramirez Jr., 22; Ryane Ziemba, 25; Mercedes Phinaih, 18; Regan Maher, 25; and Angela Haban, 20.

Chicago tribune pictures of the unwashed, wretched souls:

I like this part:

George returned to his Easter homily without further addressing the disruption. A small number of worshipers, however, followed the protesters into the lobby to berate them for disrupting the service and frightening children in attendance.

Bye-Bye Jail Birdies!!

Ah, I love the Smell of Bikes in Berkeley in the Morning!!

EaglesUp.Us brought 400 of their Motorcycle buddies and another 200 pedestrians to downtown Berkeley Saturday morning to support the Marines, which have been under fire from the radical group Code Pink and the Berkeley City Council.

Move America Forward’s Chairman Melanie Morgan rode into town on the back of a Hog. She and the VERY LOUD bikers cruised through the streets of Berkeley, giving them a wake-up call. As the roaring bikes cruised by, car alarms and house alarms squealed in the morning.

“I’ve never had so much fun in my life as I did on the back of that bike!” Morgan said.

Downtown parking spots were filled with bikes sporting American flags and men and women in leathers ruled the day.

MAF singer Diana Nagy opened the dayh with the “Star Spangled Banner” and Melanie kept the enthusiasm high as she introduced me.

I gave the following speech, which I wrote last night:

As we stand here today, I see in the strong souls of patriots a love for America that began when our Founding Fathers conceived this Republic. I see red, white and blue. I see black, white and brown. I see brothers and sisters. Many of you have battled in war for our Republic. Now we battle on the homefront against America-haters, God haters, haters of anything that looks like freedom.
Make no mistake, brothers and sisters. We stand today in the bowels of anti-Americanism. Here, as the scoundrel Rev. Wright might say, the City Council is “riding dirty” on America.
They have called for anarchy. They have paid the way of America’s enemies. They have called our Marines - our heros - “unwelcome.” And these traitors refuse to apologize to the Marines, the very men and women who give them the freedom to act like maniacal dopes.
These filthy leftovers from the Vietnam-era and their spawn give nothing to this country. They offer aide and comfort to those who want to kill us infidels.
Osama bin Laden smiles when he hears about the chaos in the streets.
He smiles when he hears Sens. Clinton and Obama promise to cut and run if they are elected.
He smiles when cities like Berkeley provide gifts of public funds to America’s enemies.
Bin Laden shouldn’t smile too much. His ranks of useful idiots in America are shrinking. And the ranks of patriots who will stand against our enemies here at home are growing. So get that smirk off your face, devil boy. The EAGLES have come HOME to roost!! We WILL get YOU!
Look into the faces of the men and women here today. Do we look like we’ll rollover for some half-baked creeps in dirty night clothes? HELL NO. Do we look like we’ll cut and run? HELL NO! Do we look like we will let up on the anti-American Berkeley City Council? HELL NO!
This week we note the historical wonders of two brave and selfless beings: Jesus and the American troop. Both offered to give their lives. Both give hope. Both give strength. And both deserve our eternal honor and respect. Five years ago this week, our troops volunteered to go to Iraq and protect the national security of the United States while closing down rape rooms and capturing the tyrant Saddam Hussein
That is why we stand here today. We stand with our Marines. Our sailors. Our airman. Our soldiers and our Coasties.

150 years ago Americans fought each other in another civil war. During that brutal clash, a union woman wrote the Battle Hymn of the Republic. It’s words ring true today:

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

God Bless the Marines. God Bless You. And God Bless the United States of America.

We sang together. We prayed together. We thanked all of our troops together. It was a beautiful day.

What made life so beautiful on Saturday is the 600-plus patriots who showed up to send a message to the City of Berkeley came in all creeds, colors and, uh, breeds.

A proud patriot:

Oh - and only a few Code Pinkos showed up. They huddled on a corner in their pathetic pink. Berkeley belonged to the red, white and blue on Saturday.

Melanie on KGO for comment on March 19th Protests

Since it was the 5th anniversary of the invasion of course anti-war groups were out in force and Berkeley was no exception.

But seeing as how the purpose of these protests is to disrupt the work of military recruiters and generally make life miserable for commuters and for passersby, Move America Forward decided NOT to organize any rallies or counter-protests in an effort to MINIMIZE the negative effect these protests have on recruiters and hapless motorists

I love the guy at the end…

“we would have liked to have seen about 10,000 people out here”

“that would have...made sense”

ha ha ha ha ...note to moonbats… dont do tv interviews when you’re obviously high as a kite!!

The Freaks Come Out in Light

These soulless beasts wore the names of dead troops around their necks with no care whether their stunts hurt the families of these troops.

Anti-war agitators attacked pro-troop patriots with bottles filled with paint and glass; spilled garbage in front of the Berkeley Recruiting Center; tried to shut down banks and other institutions; struggled with police officers – who were far too passive.

If this is what peace looks like, who the hell wants it?

The most sickening behavior was that of our politicians, specifically Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. They did not comment on the “peace” protesters’ monstrous behavior. Instead, they promised to end the war.

“I will end this war,” Obama, D-Ill., said of one of his first acts if elected president. “It is the right thing to do.”

Meanwhile, Clinton, D-N.Y., said the country “needs a commander in chief who will end the war in Iraq and bring (the troops) home.”

Any difference in their twisted thinking? Will they be proud to preside over the bloodbath that will wash the streets of Iraq when they “bring the troops home” now?

Will they smile their fake smiles as little girls are forced back into rape rooms and other innocents are tortured? Sounds like GREAT policy. Can’t wait.

But think about the bright side. We can all get government healthcare, government school lunches, government nursing homes that starve us to death, and we all can wear pink bunny suits:

Cindy Sheehan’s (ex) Sister-in-Law Salutes the Marines

Cherie Quartarolo is the patriotic and proud Godmother of Casey Sheehan. She sent to me and Melanie Morgan a beautiful story of Marines in Iraq that I want to share with you.

But first, let me say that Cherie is an honest, God-fearing woman whose brother, Pat, was married to Cindy Sheehan before Cindy decided to leave her marriage. Cherie took a lot of heat from nuts on the left, those who felt Cindy should not be questioned about her questionable rise to notoriety and her destructive behavior toward her family.
Under all of the questions about her veracity, Cherie stood strong for her family and country. She is a beautiful person.

This is what Cherie sent to us:

For those who are unaware, at a military theater, the National
Anthem is played before every movie.

From a Chaplain in Iraq :

I recently attended a showing of
“Superman 3,” here at LSA Anaconda. We have a large auditorium we
use for movies, as well as memorial services and other large
gatherings. As is the custom back in the States, we stood and
snapped to attention when the National Anthem began before the main
feature. All was going as planned until about three-quarters of the
way through The National Anthem the music stopped.

Now, what would happen if this occurred with 1,000 18-22 year-olds
back in the States? I imagine there would be hoots, catcalls,
laughter, a few rude comments; and everyone would sit down and call
for a movie. Of course, that is, if they had stood for the National
Anthem in the first place. Here, the 1,000 Soldiers continued to
stand at attention, eyes fixed forward. The music started again.
The Soldiers continued to quietly stand at attention. And again, at
the same point, the music stopped. What would you expect to happen?

Even here I would imagine laughter, as everyone finally sat down
and expected the movie to start. But here, you could have heard a
pin drop. Every Soldier continued to stand at attention. Suddenly
there was a lone voice, then a dozen, and quickly the room was
filled with the voices of a thousand soldiers, finishing where the
recording left off:” And the rockets red glare, The bombs bursting
in air, Gave proof through the night That our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave, O’er the land of
the free and the home of the brave”

It was the most inspiring moment I have had here in Iraq. I wanted
you to know what kind of Soldiers are serving you here. Remember
them as they fight for you! Pass this along as a reminder to others
to be ever in prayer for all our soldiers serving us here at home
and abroad. For many have already paid the ultimate price.

Written by Chaplain Jim Higgins

LSA Anaconda is at the Balad Airport in Iraq , north of Baghdad.

As we approach the fifth anniversary of the very day that our troops decided to lay their lives on the line for our country and each of us, we should honor them by always standing for National Anthem, always removing our hats, and always praying for our human saviors.

God Bless Them All.

Eagles Muster - Eagles Up!/GOE Rally and March

Just hours ago, I, along with Melanie Morgan, Cat Moy, Mary Pearson and the rest of the Move America Forward team, attended the Eagles Up!/GOE “Eagles Muster” rally. Move America Forward was honored to assist Eagles Up and Free Republic in organizing today’s events.

Walking through the lawn up to the Washington Monument, at the bottom of which everyone was assembled, I felt way more comfortable surrounded by Veterans and military families than I did yesterday when we had those insurgents at our press conference. At the press conference I was literally shaking because I did not know what to expect from the large group of Code Pink activists, and I guess we saw what their intentions were. Well it was clear there would be none of that today!

Our MC for the day, Lawrence Hoffa or “GUNNY” as we call him, introduced Col. Harry Riley who spoke very eloquently about why we are here and what we are doing with this rally here today.

“Eagles Muster” he explained, is the anniversary rally to last years March 17th Rally where it was estimated that several thousand patriots braved sleet, wind and ice to rally on the capitol mall and send a message to the ‘moon bat’ fringe-left: “We’re Coming For You!”

A year later we return to reflect back upon the year’s worth of events and what has happened since March of 2007. Back then, General David Petraeus had only recently fully taken the reigns in prosecuting the Iraq war; the Troop Surge was in its early stages and still had many critics and skeptics on both sides of the fence. Anti war groups were vehemently opposed to this new strategy, saying that more troops in Iraq would only escalate into more violence, and their efforts to rally, march, and protest all over the country to stop The Surge from happening were in full force.

We have seen the situation on the ground change dramatically. In Iraq we have seen incredible success come from the surge. Violence is down drastically all over Baghdad thanks to our troops restoring order and working with Iraqi security forces and Iraqi Army to maintain it. Shiite militias like the Madhi Army have called a truce and pledged to work with Coalition Forces (and many have owned up to that promise) and Sunni terrorist groups, mainly Al Qaeda, have been kicked out of their stronghold neighborhoods of Baghdad, retreating to the far flung outskirts of Iraq where they stand broken, on the brink of utter destruction, hanging on by a finger nail while United States, Coalition, and Iraqi forces are breathing down their necks.

Then we heard from Melanie Morgan who talked about The Sedition Report that we just finished compiling and how it ties in with the Eagles Up! Rally.

Similar to Al Qaeda, the anti-war groups have also been knocked down and bloodied (but they are not down for the count yet!). Their efforts to get Washington to listen to their rantings about “peace, love and ganja” have failed. In the battle for the hearts and minds of Americans, they have also failed, with support for the War actually increasing in recent months. As evidence of these facts, one only needs to look at their change of tactics, these groups have gone local and are now attacking recruiting centers often violently, displaying the wide-eyed ferocity of a group that knows they have lost and are desperately lashing out and frantically trying to hurt or bring down anyone they can.

This desperation is why we see Al Qaeda now resorting to using the mentally challenged and physically disabled as suicide bombers to carry out their attacks. It is also why groups like A.N.S.W.E.R, World Can’t Wait, SDS, Code Pink, United for Peace and Justice and others have resorted to attacks and harassment of Military Recruiting Centers.

Melanie said that we cannot afford to let up the pressure on these anti-war groups, that we must continue to hold our rallies and spread our message, continue to counter them at whatever they do, keep the pressure on, chase THEM to the far reaches of the battlefield and smoke them out of their caves!

Melanie brought Debbie Lee up to the podium to talk about her experiences. Most of us have heard her story, and her son Marc’s story before, which is a testament to the commitment of Debbie Lee to carry her son’s story on and use her voice to send his message of hope and sacrifice all over the country.

Marc, a US Navy SEAL, stood up in the line of fire 3 times in the same day during fighting in Fallujah. He did it to save his buddy Ryan’s life. Ryan had been hit by shrapnel and the seal team was pinned on a rooftop by snipers on another building. Marc stood up 3 times and put himself in the line of fire to provide the cover fire necessary to get the SEALS off the roof. Because of that Ryan is still alive today.

Later that day Marc and his buddies volunteered to go out and fight again to root out those insurgents, and it was then that Marc was shot by a sniper and gave his life for his nation. Debbie has told this story a thousand times to thousands of people and every time I watch her and watch the crowd as she is talking, I am still gripped at the emotion I see in peoples faces, and the emotions it continues to stir in my own heart.

Mel then introduced a good friend of hers Ron Winter who talked about what was going on yesterday with the IVAW Winters Soldier testimony. It’s interesting to note how the Winter Soldiers get their name.

According to the American Thinker blog in thier post about IVAW and Winters Soldier it seems most likely that they are trying to frame themselves as the bravest, and those doing the right thing.

They say a summer soldier is someone who only supports the troops and makes sacrifices when the odds are in our favor. A winter soldier is someone willing to fight when the chips are down. Thus it is with incredible self importance and arrogance that the 1971 group, and the IVAW group are calling themselves winter soldiers.

In my opinion, and this is also what Ron Winters spoke to at the rally, these IVAW guys are really the summer soldiers, they are making these allegations and atrocities so that they can benefit either personally, or their ideology will benefit politically (ie. Democrats win) by their actions and at the expense and defaming of their fellow soldiers. Disgraceful!

We heard from several others, veterans of the war who simply wanted to thank the crowd for assembling and showing their support. One marine said “you are why we fight.”
An airman told us that it’s great when the troops come home and see patriots like us there to greet them instead of the pinkos.

Gunny Hoffa wrapped up the rally with the Star Spangled Banner which the whole crowd sang a capela and then we started the march!

We started out on Constitution Ave and 13th, marching up Constitution to 3rd right to the Capitol. I was basically the last person to start marching and I had to run to catch up, they had police cars ahead of the march stopping traffic and then two squad cars following the march with orange-vested organizers flanking either side to make sure no one wandered into traffic.

After I caught up, I spent most of my time up at the very front of the procession with Ryan Gill who is Operations Director for MAF. We marched down the street shouting “USA, USA, USA” and “Support our Troops, Let Tem Win!” When we got down to 3rd we made a hard right and doubled back up through the capitol mall where the march ended and the group congregated.

I was struck, as we walked down the streets being eyed my many curious bystanders or tourists, at how there was absolutely no presence from Code Pink or any other leftist group. I was almost sure, I was anticipating, I was ready to turn the corner somewhere and be stunned by a mass of old ladies in Pink and punk kids in black and orange, but it never materialized. I don’t even remember being yelled at or confronted by anyone the whole day. It was pretty amazing.

Occasionally I saw a guy give me a hard look, or a woman whispers to her friend something while staring at us, but that was the only thing I saw all day that indicated to any effect that someone didn’t support the troops or their missions. Most of the people I saw were supporting our march, waving or smiling as we passed, clapping along with us and snapping a photo or two. Many cars honked to support us too! It was pretty awesome really. This must be what it’s like for an anti-war group to march through the most liberal parts of San Francisco. But this isn’t a conservative town like in Orange County, San Jose, Texas or Florida, its Washington DC!

Surprised as I was, it could do nothing but encourage me when I saw all those people out there supporting what we were doing! A few joined us, but most just offered their support and went about their business.

Overall I have to say it was a lot of fun just to come out in support of our troops, without having to deal with Code Pink. I can only assume they were scared off! And it was wonderful to recognize all the great successes that our troops have made and that our movement has made. All have made great strides in our respective efforts to protect what makes America the strongest and greatest nation on earth.
