General has “never been more optimistic” on Iraq
You may not see it bannered on the frontpage of your newspaper, but American troops and “the surge” are stopping the insurgency in record numbers and deaths and violence have dropped significantly.
Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch points to what the military calls ``Concerned Citizens’’ - both Shiites and Sunnis who have joined the American fight. He says he’s signed up 20,000 of them in the last four months.
The Shiites and Sunnis are tired of the bloodshed and many are working hard to take their country back from their real enemies: the radical Muslim Jihadists.
Sunni Sheik Emad Ghurtani is among those helping.
``Because of what the American forces have accomplished, instead of us moving step by step we’re going to start running toward the enemy ... Instead of walking, we’re going to start running now. We just need the weapons and ammunition,’’ Ghurtani said.
Of course, some in the he mainstream media can’t allow good news in the war to go unchecked – or twisted, if you will. Newsbusters.org has an insightful piece on how Newsweek has accused the Bush Administration of hiding the positive news. Unbelievable.
The Bush administration is starving for good news out of Iraq, and it may finally have some: new U.S. government statistics showing that violent attacks of all kinds are down to levels not seen since 2005. But until recently, the administration appears to have resisted acknowledging a key element of the new data, because it flies in the face of President George W. Bush’s ongoing rhetorical confrontation with Iran’s clerical regime.
Go here for the entire story.
Even the Iraqi government, which hasn’t smiled on everything America has done inside Iraq, is reporting great news. The Iraqi government itself claims violence has dropped 70 percent since the end of June.
A new report by the Iraqi government claims that violence in the war-torn country has dropped by 70 percent since the end of June.

Nobel Laureate: 9/11 “not so terrible”
The Nobel prizes continue to lose their shine.
Nobel Laureate Doris Lessing, a firebrand who shoots from the hip with outrageous claims, told a newspaper that the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States wasn’t so bad, and Americans are naïve.
Breitbart.com reports on the despicable statements:
“September 11 was terrible, but if one goes back over the history of the IRA, what to the Americans wasn’t that terrible,” the Nobel Literature Prize winner told the leading Spanish daily El Pais.
We may be naïve, but we damned well know when we’ve suffered a horrendous attack on our homeland by evil men drive by a perverted sect of Islam. Lessing is a sick woman whose only award should have been a one-way ticket to a rubber room.
Lessing won the Nobel Prize for literature earlier this month. She was praised by the judges for her “skepticism, fire and visionary power.”
Next, Lessing will say Americans are responsible for global warming.
Accurate War Coverage - for Free!!
.
All describe the bizarro-world contrast between what most Americans seem to think is happening in Iraq versus what is really happening in Iraq. Knowing this disconnect exists and experiencing it directly are two separate matters. It’s like the difference between holding the remote control during the telecast of a volcanic eruption on some distant island (and then flipping the channel), versus running for survival from a wretch of molten lava that just engulfed your car.
Talk about a win-win situation. The NNA is a good organization – and I’m not just saying that because it gave me an award for my column writing. Its member newspapers reach into the heart of America, where readers are hungry for the truth about the war. Yon tells the entire story – the good, bad, ugly, bloody and honesty of America’s battle to protect herself for Muslim Jihadists. It is the fight of our generation, and Yon knows how to cut through the rhetoric. He is also a skilled photographer.
Every NNA newspaper should take Yon up on his offer. It would be silly to do otherwise. This is first-hand stuff and it’s FREE! Readers should call their local newspaper, speak to the editor or publisher, and point them to Yon’s offer. They will win more readers in a time when consumers are skeptical of the press and especially reporting from Iraq.

Rush is a Soldier’s Soldier
Oct. 19, 2007
Dear Rush,
Congratulations. I mean that in many ways. First, because of your lifelong support of America against her enemies whether domestic or foreign. Now, as in the Vietnam War, we face both. We face radical Muslim Jihadists and their enablers, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Cindy Sheehan, and groups like Code Pink and Media Matters for America.
Second, your ability to turn a sourpuss senator’s attack on you into millions of dollars for our troops’ families was a brilliant turnabout. And you did it with half your brain tied behind your back – because you are always fair.
I am touched most by your humility, as my friend Kate Sciacca – your longtime Fairfield listener – told you last week. Honesty is humility.
This week Move America Forward, Melanie Morgan, I and hundreds of patriots faced off with the Code Pink lemmings who were attempting to chase a Marine recruiter out of Berkeley. Code Pink vandalized the station, calling the Marines “traitors” and “liars.” They surely got their talking points from Harry Reid and his liberal buddies.
Berkeley showed something you regularly talk about. The silent majority is sick and tired of the perverted thinking of leading Democrats and others, including weak-spined Republicans, who want America to lose. Dingy Harry, as you call him, has already claimed that American troops have lost this war. In fact, it is he who is the loser, as his recent poll ratings show. By the way Rush, you are too generous calling him dingy. He is filthy.
Today as Reid took to the floor and tried to claim some responsibility for your fantastic fund raising for the Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation, I laughed out loud. He is as phony as the phony soldiers who try to steal valor from our real troops. Shameless cowards they are.
Finally, I want to say something as the daughter of a Korean War veteran and the niece of a soldier who gave his life for this country. The left’s attacks in the end can’t hurt the truth. Reid tried to make a point that you have not served in the Armed Forces. In other words, he wanted to smear you as a chicken hawk.
The truth tells us something different. Your actions speak louder than even your words (which is pretty loud). You, sir, are a soldier’s soldier. I thank God for you.
God bless You and our Troops,

Stark Reminder of anti-troops hate
Sometimes you wonder if politicians take one too many stupid pills. Democrat Rep. Pete Stark went on in cheap, hateful words.
“I yield myself two minutes. Madam speaker, I, first of all, I’m just amazed that they can’t figure out—the Republicans are worried that they can’t pay for insuring an additional 10 million children. They sure don’t care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq. Where are you going to get that money? Are you going to tell us lies like you’re telling us today? Is that how you’re going to fund the war? You don’t have money to fund the war on children. But you’re going to spend it to blow up innocent people if he can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President’s amusement.”
Stark is known for a filthy mouth and shady dealings. He has called a fellow Representative a “whore,” he called a California welfare director a “baby killer” and paid his wife some $176,000 as treasurer of his campaign. Hello, Bay Area. It’s time to dumb this fool.
