Dreaming of a Quiet Christmas
The cooling temperatures, the falling leaves and winter coats growing on my animals remind me that Thanksgiving and Christmas – and Hanukkah – are just around the corner. It is my favorite time of year, though I used to get sick every Christmas and cry when I heard Christmas carols. (I don’t know. Weird. Guess I was excited about that pony Santa was bringing).
This year is special because we at Move America Forward are embarking on a special tour to honor our troops. We will travel from the Pacific tlo the Atlantic and collect cards from all of you to carry to Iraq. You can go below and see a post by Melanie Morgan on the itinerary.
We have spoken with many troops who every day protect us. We are always humbled when they send us a thank you note. They deserve all of the thanks.
Imagine spending Thanksgiving, Christmas and all of the holidays in a war zone, thousands of miles from your family. Our brave men and women do this. They and their families sacrifice so much as we eat turkey, argue with our relatives about politics, and watch our children open presents.
Every day I pray for them. I pray that they know we support them, even though some loud-mouthed anarchists and congressmen prattle on about how our troops are “cold-blooded murderers.” (Still waiting for that apology Mr. Murtha!)
We know that you all support our troops, so we’re asking you to make cards, buy them and have your children’s schools make Christmas greetings. We’ll take them to Iraq to present them in your name.
This year a group of us from Move America Forward will spend the holidays away from our families at home and will spend them with America’s family - our troops – in Iraq.
Please go to MoveAmericaForward.org often for updates and to buy Thanksgiving packages for our troops. They will, of course, arrive before we get to Iraq!!!
Please mail the cards to our headquarters:

U.S.A. Slaps Down Iran - stiff sanctions for Terrorist state
The United States today announced unilateral sanctions against Iran, which will hurt its economic prowess in exporting terrorism. The Bush Administration has designated the Iranian Quds Force as a terrorism supporter and the Revolutionary Guard Corps as a “proliferator of weapons of mass destruction,” according to the Washington Post
The package, announced jointly by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr., marks the first time that the United States has tried to isolate or punish another country’s military
The move marks the most aggressive sanctions against Iran since Iranians took Americans hostage in 1979 and shows that the Bush Administration takes seriously Iran’s direct involvement in Iraq War.
Although Iran’s suspected weapons programs have been a longtime problem for the United States, the Quds Force’s operations in Iraq have become a bigger immediate challenge. “The Quds Force controls the policy for Iraq,” Gen. David H. Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, said earlier this month. “There should be no confusion about that.”
The Quds, which is Arabic for Israel, make millions of dollars through trade to fund its terrorist operations. Freezing assets is a good way to slow their ability to kill American or Allied soldiers in Iraq.
The sanctions recognize that financing for groups like the Revolutionary Guard have become closely entwined with Iran’s economy, making it difficult to disrupt the one without targeting the other.
The Revolutionary Guard “is so deeply entrenched in Iran’s economy, that it is increasingly likely that if you are doing business with Iran you are doing business with the IRGC,” Paulson said.
The banks involved are Bank Melli, Bank Mellat and Bank Saderat. The first two are being designated for helping finance Iran’s proliferation program, and Saderat is being designated for financing terrorism. In addition, the administration named five Revolutionary Guard leaders who are included under the new restrictions, as well as nine businesses and the Iranian Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics.
Rice said the United States is “committed to a diplomatic solution” to the tension between Washington and Tehran, but also wants to “increase the costs to Iran” unless it cooperates with the international community on terrorism and proliferation.
The announced measures will help protect the international financial system, she said, and provide “a powerful deterrent” to those who do or are considering doing business with Iran.
The move caps a year of growing U.S. pressure on Tehran, including billions of dollars in arms sales to Persian Gulf allies and Israel, interception of Iranian arms shipments in Iraq and Afghanistan, detention of Iranian agents in Iraq, and pressure on the United Nations and European allies to increase Iran’s isolation. The dramatic U.S. steps underscore the escalating tensions between the United States and Iran.
The sanctions are a good start to isolating the Iranian regime and its leaders who will also be designated as terrorists or supporters or terrorism. For too long the United States has allowed this outlaw regime to run roughshod over the West and Democratic nations.

Fire plus politics equals losers
Democratic leaders are lining up to blame President Bush for the damage by fires ripping through Southern California and displacing more than 500,000 people.
First, Sen. Barbara Boxer said firefighters and others were ill equipped to handle the fires because President Bush deployed National Guard units and equipment to fight terrorists in Iraq.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger dismissed the criticism when questioned by an ABC News reporter, and praised the rapid deployment of fire crews and equipment across a region from north of Los Angeles to the Mexican border.
“Anyone that is complaining about the planes just wants to complain because there’s a bunch of nonsense,” he said. “The fact is that we could have all the planes in the world here - we have 90 aircraft here and six that we got especially from the federal government - and they can’t fly because of the wind situation.”
Next to take a swing at President Bush was California Democratic Lt. Gov. John Garamendi, who called Bush’s planned visit on Thursday a “public relations” move, according to Reuters
“I’ve got some doubt about the value of President Bush coming out here,” he told MSNBC’s “Hardball.” “I just hope ... he brings more than he brought to New Orleans.”
Garamendi also voiced concern that Bush’s trip could distract from firefighting efforts in southern California, where more than half million people have been driven from their homes.
Not every reporter was prepared to give Garamendi and the left-wing lynchmob blame Bush and the War in Iraq for more than $1 billion in fire loses, As Newsbusters.org reported, MSNBC reporter Tamrom Hall nailed Garamendi with the facts:
TAMRON HALL: President Bush is coming tomorrow and you told Hardball’s Chris Matthews that he did not need to come. Instead you’d rather have the National Guard back from Iraq. Chief of the National Guard, Lt. Gen. Steven Blum says that there are still 17,000 National Guardsmen in California right now and just 3,000 in Iraq. Would that have made a difference, and why did you make those comments?
No matter what Bush does – or fails to do – the Democrats are ready to politicize the disaster that has devastated thousands of lives and ended the lives of others. They apparently want to capitalize on the mistakes made in New Orleans, jut as liberals have done with the war in Iraq.
This fire has forced my people to evacuate their homes than any other disaster in California’s history. No politician should try to score points as people suffer and struggle to live in unbelievable conditions.
I am proud of all of the volunteers, firefighters, and Armed Forces personnel who have helped those in need. As for Garamendi, Boxer and anybody else politicizing the disaster, shame on you.
Our prayers are with those who’ve lost their homes, or are affected by the fire in any way. We thank our troops and firefighters who are fighting the brutal flames and caring for others.

General has “never been more optimistic” on Iraq
You may not see it bannered on the frontpage of your newspaper, but American troops and “the surge” are stopping the insurgency in record numbers and deaths and violence have dropped significantly.
Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch points to what the military calls ``Concerned Citizens’’ - both Shiites and Sunnis who have joined the American fight. He says he’s signed up 20,000 of them in the last four months.
The Shiites and Sunnis are tired of the bloodshed and many are working hard to take their country back from their real enemies: the radical Muslim Jihadists.
Sunni Sheik Emad Ghurtani is among those helping.
``Because of what the American forces have accomplished, instead of us moving step by step we’re going to start running toward the enemy ... Instead of walking, we’re going to start running now. We just need the weapons and ammunition,’’ Ghurtani said.
Of course, some in the he mainstream media can’t allow good news in the war to go unchecked – or twisted, if you will. Newsbusters.org has an insightful piece on how Newsweek has accused the Bush Administration of hiding the positive news. Unbelievable.
The Bush administration is starving for good news out of Iraq, and it may finally have some: new U.S. government statistics showing that violent attacks of all kinds are down to levels not seen since 2005. But until recently, the administration appears to have resisted acknowledging a key element of the new data, because it flies in the face of President George W. Bush’s ongoing rhetorical confrontation with Iran’s clerical regime.
Go here for the entire story.
Even the Iraqi government, which hasn’t smiled on everything America has done inside Iraq, is reporting great news. The Iraqi government itself claims violence has dropped 70 percent since the end of June.
A new report by the Iraqi government claims that violence in the war-torn country has dropped by 70 percent since the end of June.

Nobel Laureate: 9/11 “not so terrible”
The Nobel prizes continue to lose their shine.
Nobel Laureate Doris Lessing, a firebrand who shoots from the hip with outrageous claims, told a newspaper that the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States wasn’t so bad, and Americans are naïve.
Breitbart.com reports on the despicable statements:
“September 11 was terrible, but if one goes back over the history of the IRA, what to the Americans wasn’t that terrible,” the Nobel Literature Prize winner told the leading Spanish daily El Pais.
We may be naïve, but we damned well know when we’ve suffered a horrendous attack on our homeland by evil men drive by a perverted sect of Islam. Lessing is a sick woman whose only award should have been a one-way ticket to a rubber room.
Lessing won the Nobel Prize for literature earlier this month. She was praised by the judges for her “skepticism, fire and visionary power.”
Next, Lessing will say Americans are responsible for global warming.
Accurate War Coverage - for Free!!
.
All describe the bizarro-world contrast between what most Americans seem to think is happening in Iraq versus what is really happening in Iraq. Knowing this disconnect exists and experiencing it directly are two separate matters. It’s like the difference between holding the remote control during the telecast of a volcanic eruption on some distant island (and then flipping the channel), versus running for survival from a wretch of molten lava that just engulfed your car.
Talk about a win-win situation. The NNA is a good organization – and I’m not just saying that because it gave me an award for my column writing. Its member newspapers reach into the heart of America, where readers are hungry for the truth about the war. Yon tells the entire story – the good, bad, ugly, bloody and honesty of America’s battle to protect herself for Muslim Jihadists. It is the fight of our generation, and Yon knows how to cut through the rhetoric. He is also a skilled photographer.
Every NNA newspaper should take Yon up on his offer. It would be silly to do otherwise. This is first-hand stuff and it’s FREE! Readers should call their local newspaper, speak to the editor or publisher, and point them to Yon’s offer. They will win more readers in a time when consumers are skeptical of the press and especially reporting from Iraq.

Rush is a Soldier’s Soldier
Oct. 19, 2007
Dear Rush,
Congratulations. I mean that in many ways. First, because of your lifelong support of America against her enemies whether domestic or foreign. Now, as in the Vietnam War, we face both. We face radical Muslim Jihadists and their enablers, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Cindy Sheehan, and groups like Code Pink and Media Matters for America.
Second, your ability to turn a sourpuss senator’s attack on you into millions of dollars for our troops’ families was a brilliant turnabout. And you did it with half your brain tied behind your back – because you are always fair.
I am touched most by your humility, as my friend Kate Sciacca – your longtime Fairfield listener – told you last week. Honesty is humility.
This week Move America Forward, Melanie Morgan, I and hundreds of patriots faced off with the Code Pink lemmings who were attempting to chase a Marine recruiter out of Berkeley. Code Pink vandalized the station, calling the Marines “traitors” and “liars.” They surely got their talking points from Harry Reid and his liberal buddies.
Berkeley showed something you regularly talk about. The silent majority is sick and tired of the perverted thinking of leading Democrats and others, including weak-spined Republicans, who want America to lose. Dingy Harry, as you call him, has already claimed that American troops have lost this war. In fact, it is he who is the loser, as his recent poll ratings show. By the way Rush, you are too generous calling him dingy. He is filthy.
Today as Reid took to the floor and tried to claim some responsibility for your fantastic fund raising for the Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation, I laughed out loud. He is as phony as the phony soldiers who try to steal valor from our real troops. Shameless cowards they are.
Finally, I want to say something as the daughter of a Korean War veteran and the niece of a soldier who gave his life for this country. The left’s attacks in the end can’t hurt the truth. Reid tried to make a point that you have not served in the Armed Forces. In other words, he wanted to smear you as a chicken hawk.
The truth tells us something different. Your actions speak louder than even your words (which is pretty loud). You, sir, are a soldier’s soldier. I thank God for you.
God bless You and our Troops,

Stark Reminder of anti-troops hate
Sometimes you wonder if politicians take one too many stupid pills. Democrat Rep. Pete Stark went on in cheap, hateful words.
“I yield myself two minutes. Madam speaker, I, first of all, I’m just amazed that they can’t figure out—the Republicans are worried that they can’t pay for insuring an additional 10 million children. They sure don’t care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq. Where are you going to get that money? Are you going to tell us lies like you’re telling us today? Is that how you’re going to fund the war? You don’t have money to fund the war on children. But you’re going to spend it to blow up innocent people if he can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President’s amusement.”
Stark is known for a filthy mouth and shady dealings. He has called a fellow Representative a “whore,” he called a California welfare director a “baby killer” and paid his wife some $176,000 as treasurer of his campaign. Hello, Bay Area. It’s time to dumb this fool.
