Major Headway in Iraq as Sheiks Swear to kill Terrorists

The United States is making major headway in Iraq and Afghanistan, as the mainstream media are beginning to report. But they still aren’t handing out the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I am in contact with well-connected sources in D.C. and the Middle East who tell me that the United States is opening up a can of industrial-sized whoop-ass on our enemies. The “surge” is working, American and allied casualties are down, and tribal leaders are swearing on the Quran that they will get along.

This means less “insurgent” fighting and headbanging within rival tribes. A historic meeting among tribal leaders this week in Iraq means more peace, less crossfire for American and Allied troops.

One Sheik said the tribal people would run the terrorists out.

“Instead of cheering for the terrorists driving through the streets, the people will cheer for the Iraqi security forces in the streets, said Sheik Mahmood Abdul-Shinba Al-Hassani.”
“The terrorists are not that many,” said Sheik Adnan Abdul-Mehdi Al-Anbaki. “We have to stand together and we need to kill the terrorists. We know who they are.”

After discussing tribal differences and why it is important to unite, the sheiks signed a reconciliation agreement and swore over the Quran as a promise to uphold the agreement.

As stated in the Quran, “And hold fast, all together, by the rope which God (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves,” the sheiks agreed to ten conditions.

Some conditions of the peace treaty include ending tribal conflicts and attacks; cooperating with the ISF; fighting al-Qaida, militia groups and other terrorist organizations; working with the security forces to eradicate corrupt members; returning displaced families to their homes; reporting and removing improvised explosive devices; and respecting all sects, religions and women’s rights.

TIKRIT, Iraq, Aug. 3, 2007 — Eighteen paramount tribal leaders representing 14 of the major tribes in Diyala province, Iraq, swore on the Quran and signed a peace agreement unifying the tribes in the battle against terrorism during a meeting at the Baqubah Government Center Aug. 2.

The meeting, led by Ra’ad Hameed Al-Mula Jowad Al-Tamimi, governor of Diyala; Staff Maj. Gen. Abdul Kareem, commander of Iraqi security forces (ISF) in Diyala province; and Col. David W. Sutherland, commander of coalition forces in Diyala, was attended by sheiks representing three Shiite tribes, 11 Sunni tribes and 60 of Diyala’s 100 sub-tribes.

If you want to know what’s going on in America’s war against radical Muslim Jihadists, you must go to the front lines. If you don’t have a flack jacket and can’t handle an M-16, you must listen to the experts who are taking the fire, speaking with commanders and tribal leaders, who have a lot of sway over Iraqi citizens.

As we know, Iraq has a high population of Muslims who honor the edicts of their spiritual leaders. If these leaders say Islam demands peacemaking among the tribes, then it is done. It is the crazies, such as al Sadr whose army gets funds and training from Iran, who are dangerous and order fatwas, or orders, to destroy the peacekeepers.

So the news is better and better out of Iraq. Violence continues, but peace is marching on.

Who CAIRs if they squelch the First Amendment?

As the shouting revs up in the showdown between left-wing appeasers and pro-troops, pro-mission types, apologists for radical Islam are flexing their muscles.

Move America Forward and dozens of other grassroots groups have launched a major pushback against the thumb-suckers on the left, who plan to hold a “die in” Sept. 15 in Washington D.C. as MAF leads a caravan of patriots into town to support our troops (may I suggest that the left look at tape of the real “die in” that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001?).

The die-in from 9/11 that anti-war
protestors have ignored or forgotten about.

So it is notable that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) - which bills itself as a civil rights organization, yet attacks others’ civil rights – is demanding that one of its critics be silenced.

This is the MO of those whose thought processes don’t register what the U.S. Constitution means.

Michelle Malkin wrote a piece explaining CAIR’s radical behavior. The “civil rights” group, which has attacked MAF Chairman Melanie Morgan, now wants to stifle the free speech of Robert Spencer, author and founder of Jihad Watch, an important stop on the information freeway when it comes to United States’ enemies in the war against radical Islamists.

Spencer is scheduled to speak tomorrow at Young America’s Foundation’s student conference. But CAIR, the “civil rights” crew, sent a threatening letter to YAF, asking the foundations to cancel Spencer’s talk.

This isn’t the first go around in CAIR’s war against free speech. As I mentioned above, it has gone after Morgan and other critics such as my friend, Daniel Pipes With “civil rights” groups like CAIR, who needs enemies in the war against radical Jihadists?

Cindy Sheehan: The N-word ain’t no big thang

Retired-and-revived anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan hangs with the “cool” gang. That’s no secret. She’s done the singing-‘round-the-campfire thing with hippies in Crawford, Texas, and hung on Venezuelan dictator like a cheap suit.

During a Wu Tang Clan concert recently, the “Peace Mom” partied like a girl in the hood as the rappers belted out the N-word. I thought the NAACP banned that word. Hmmm.

According to sources on the ground, the “Peace Mom”

“ bopped her head and sang along as Cypress Hill performed “F— the Pigs” while multitasking with her BlackBerry and a beer by the stage. Front man B-Real then helped a bandmate take a hit from a 4-foot bong onstage, drawing deafening cheers from the crowd.

What will Pelosi do to top Sheehan’s sheer shrewdness when it comes to stealing the hearts of San Franciscans?

Why Bill O’Reilly’s Attacks on FreeRepublic.com are Unfair

Bill O’Reilly’s been making waves the past few weeks by focusing on the prevalance of ‘hateful’ content at the liberal website, Daily Kos.  O’Reilly is particularly disturbed to see Democratic presidential candidates agreeing to speak at the annual YearlyKos convention that will take place August 2nd through 5th.

To show balance in his reporting, O’Reilly has unfortunately chosen to target the good people who visit the conservative website, www.FreeRepublic.com.  Last night O’Reilly had on his show a friend of mine, Kristinn Taylor, who is a spokesperson for Free Republic, to defend the website from O’Reilly’s criticisms.

To his credit, O’Reilly noted that the amount of controversial content at FreeRepublic pales in comparison to that which appears on a near-daily basis at DailyKos.

As someone who visits FreeRepublic each day, and as someone who has contributed to the website’s fundraising drives, I feel compelled to speak out in defense of FreeRepublic from the critical comments made by O’Reilly.

FreeRepublic.com was launched in the infancy of the Internet, serving as a source for the sharing of news stories from around the world, and the chance to have an open dialogue on these stories.  Soon thereafter, FReepers (as they are known), used the website to also organize grass roots efforts to allow patriotic Americans to mobilize efforts to make their voices heard in the public square.

As the Chairman of Move America Forward, the nation’s largest pro-troop organization, I’ve seen the impact that such efforts have had.  Thousands upon thousands of proud, decent Americans who love their country have become informed of Move America Forward’s countless pro-troop rallies, care package shipments and calls for help to assist the heroic men and women of the United States military thanks to Free Republic.

To equate these decent and noble efforts with those of a website like DailyKos, which routinely denounces the U.S. military and the foundations of liberty that this nation cherishes, is dishonest and unfair.

I won’t stand for that, and I urge all the members and supporters of Move America Forward to show solidarity with the great Americans who participate at FreeRepublic forums.

..........

This September FReepers will once again use the FreeRepublic website to organize public displays of support for our troops and their missions in the War on Terror.  This is the kind of good work these people do each and every day, and that deserves the respect and support from all of us who cherish this country and the leadership our nation provides in fighting the forces of tyranny and terrorism.
