Deborah Johns to Cindy Sheehan:  Lets Talk… Mom to Mom

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - August 26, 2005
CONTACT:  Shawn Callahan (916) 768-2686 [cell] – press inquiries

STATEMENT BY DEBORAH JOHNS:

Let’s Talk, Cindy Sheehan – Mom to Mom

(Dateline: Dallas, Texas) – Deborah Johns, the leader of Move America Forward’s “You Don’t Speak for Me, Cindy” Tour, today issued the following statement regarding the caravan of military families and their supporters that are heading to Crawford, Texas for a major pro-troop rally (“We Support Our Troops AND Their Mission”) on Saturday, August 27th.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“As the proud mother of a U.S. Marine who has served two tours of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom, I have been saddened by the hurtful comments made by Cindy Sheehan in regards to the men and women of the United States military and our Commander in Chief.

For three weeks Cindy Sheehan has made inflammatory and untrue statements about the mission our troops have been serving.  It was these non-stop attacks and hateful words that compelled me to take action.  That is why I joined with Move America Forward to organize the “You Don’t Speak for Me, Cindy” Tour.

Cindy Sheehan doesn’t speak for me, nor does she speak for the overwhelming majority of military families.  And from the calls and emails I have received during the past week, I can tell you that she does not speak for the vast majority of families who have had to endure the pain of losing a loved one in the war on terrorism.

Since she first arrived in Crawford, Texas, Cindy Sheehan has been demanding that she receive a second meeting with President Bush so that she may continue her political and personal attacks against him.  Yet, she admits that she won’t listen to a thing he says.

Well I would like to talk to you, Cindy Sheehan.

I invite Cindy Sheehan to sit down and meet with me when I am in Crawford, Texas on Saturday, August 27th.  We can talk one-on-one, in a respectful, private and sincere manner, one mother to another.

I would like Cindy Sheehan to justify how her effort to undermine our troops’ mission does anything but dishonor those men and women in harms way?

I would like to ask Cindy Sheehan why she emboldens the terrorists by calling our President a murderer and the ‘real terrorist?’

And I would like to invite Cindy Sheehan to honor the requests from the overwhelming majority of our troops who ask the American people to not waiver in their resolve to support the efforts our troops are serving in.

Cindy Sheehan:  You’ve said you wanted to talk about these issues.  I invite you to discuss them with me.  It shouldn’t be too hard to find the caravan of military families I will be bringing to Crawford on Saturday.”

Cindy Sheehan Calls Terrorists “Freedom Fighters”

A very revealing look into the political motivations of ultra-liberal protester Cindy Sheehan as she calls terrorists “freedom fighters” while being interviewed by CBS.

Forwarded to us from the weblog Sweetness and Light:

Cindy is being interviewed by CBS News’ Mark Knoller, upon her arrival in Crawford on August 6, 2005:

Mark Knoller: You know that the President says Iraq is the central front in the war on terrorism, don’t you believe that?

Cindy Sheehan: No, because it’s not true. Iraq was no threat to the United States of America until we invaded. Iraq was not involved in 9/11. Iraq was not a terrorist state.

But now that we have decimated the country, the borders are open. Freedom Fighters from other countries are going in. And they have created more terrorism by going into an Islamic country, devastating the country and killing innocent people in that country.

Terrorism is growing. And people who never thought of being car bombers, suicide bombers are now doing it because they want the United States of America out of their country.

Logic check: They are freedom fighters from other countries who have come to Iraq because they want the US out of their country?

The website includes the video clip of Sheehan making these statements on camera…

Over 3,000 Demand End to Government-Sponsored Anti-Military “Art”

Andy Nevis being interviewed by media before his delivery of petition. More pictures located at http://sactodan.blogspot.com

(SACRAMENTO) – California’s Attorney General, Bill Lockyer is facing new criticism today for his support of the anti-American art display hanging on the first floor of his office building.  Andy Nevis, the 15 year old Sacramento blogger, turned in over 3,000 signatures on petitions today demanding Attorney General Bill Lockyer remove the offensive anti-American art on display in his taxpayer supported office building.

Nevis delivered the petitions Wednesday at 10:30 am, at the California Department of Justice office at 1300 I Street in Downtown Sacramento.

The guard at the front desk called upstairs to Lockyer’s Executive Office and was told, “No Thanks” by Lockyer’s staff.  He was asked to leave the petition at the front desk.

Nevis said, “One doubts whether it will ever get to it’s destination, especially considering Bill Lockyer has shown he has little respect for the opinions of the people. However, we did acheive our main objective, which was to get attention for the revulsion by every-day Americans at the offensive display”.

The petition demands that Locker, “Please remove the painting of the American flag in the toilet that is currently on display in your office.  It is offensive to most of the residents of California and America. Material that is offensive to most people does not belong in a government, taxpayer-supported office.”

Nevis, a 15 year old incoming sophomore in the PACE Program at John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento, has developed a blog that has been growing exponentially.

The Washington Post, numerous radio talk shows and various bloggers have interviewed him.  He was a founding member of The Western Alliance, a group of blogs that seeks to make a difference in local and national politics. After getting more and more wrapped up in blogging, he decided to start his own, www.cahsconservative.blogspot.com, in February 2005.

Two weeks ago Move America Forward and powerhouse radio station KFBK 1530 put together an extremely successful “I LOVE AMERICA” art exhibit and Rally” in front of the Attorney General’s Office.  Hundreds of people gathered to protest the offensive artwork in the AG’s office and celebrate the pro-American art on display on the sidewalk.  The pro-American art is now being shipped to American military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan with shipments of coffee and cookies.
