The French Police Dog Who Was Killed in Anti-ISIS Raid

Seven Days Until Thanksgiving Send Our Troops Support Now!

We know from years of experience supporting the troops that the holidays can be the loneliest and most difficult time of the year for deployed troops.Nothing makes you miss your loved ones more than the memories of spending Thanksgiving and Christmas with family, and knowing that they won’t be home to watch their kids eat pumpkin pie or open their presents on Christmas morning.

For anyone who donates over $99, we are sending out a special commemorative Troop Support Magnet to stick on your car, truck, refrigerator or anywhere else you want to show off your support for the troops!

With only SEVEN DAYS to go until our troops overseas will be celebrating another Thanksgiving on deployment, we wanted to remind you about another kind of warrior that you shouldn’t forget; the four-legged kind. Military Working Dogs have assisted U.S. troops overseas since the very beginning of the War on Terror.

Military K9 teams fill specialized roles such as patrols, guarding important buildings and sniffing out roadside bombs…Move America Forward recognizes and honors Military Working Dogs and the troops who train and work alongside them. Since 2010, MAF has been sending specialized K-9 Care Packages for those military dogs and the handlers who work alongside them.

K-9 Care packages include all of the normal great items included in a normal care package that our troops enjoy and need PLUS eye-protecting “Doggles Originalz” specifically designed for our furry troops and Petsport “Tuff” Balls.Sponsor a K9 Care Package today!
‘Not all heroes are human’: French police dog killed in raid
November 18, 2015
by Mary Bowerman and Kim Hjelmgaard
A police dog named “Diesel” was killed during a police raid on Wednesday that targeted the suspected mastermind of deadly terror attacks in Paris. On social media, the hashtag #JeSuisChien, which means “I am dog,” began trending worldwide on Twitter as people tweeted tributes to the dog.The hashtag was used over 55,000 times after the dog’s death was announced and is a nod to the #JeSuisCharlie hashtag that was used after the January terror attack at the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. The 7-year-old Belgian Shepherd was killed sometime during the seven-hour siege on an apartment in the Paris suburb of Saint Denis; French police tweeted on Wednesday.

Police posted a photo of Diesel and said, “assault and explosives search dogs are indispensable in the missions of the operators of the RAID.”

The raid ended Wednesday with the arrest of seven people with suspected links to the Paris attacks. Two other suspects, including a female suicide bomber who detonated explosives as police entered the apartment, were killed.

Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said phone data and eyewitness statements led police to the apartment as part of the manhunt for Abaaoud.

On Twitter, one woman wrote, “A dog sacrificing his life for a battle caused by men… He truly can be called our best friend #RIPDiesel#JeSuisChien.”

A Veterans Day message from Scott Raab

A Veterans Day Message from MAF’s Scott Raab

Dear Friends,

Veterans day is a special day that amazes me every year. There is nothing in my life that I am more proud of than putting on the uniform and enlisting in the United States Navy. I served as an Intelligence Analyst during my enlistment and had the pleasure to work for and with some of the most incredible people I have ever met. Now years later as a disabled combat veteran working through Move America Forward, it is my honor to help support the people still wearing the uniform. I am extremely humbled and dismayed by the overwhelming generosity and kindness that I see every day from MAF supporters.

I knew at a very young age that I would serve my country and it was no surprise to my close circle of family and friends when I left home to pursue that end. Most families have their traditions, and in mine each generation has answered the call to serve. Of course it was a very difficult for my mother to see her only son leave after the events of 9/11. It is one of the only times I can ever remember seeing her cry. The hardest part for me and many others was never being able to tell my family where I was or when I would return. One of the hardest conversations I have ever had was when I told her I was extending my enlistment for an additional year from a satellite phone overseas.  For many months I was only able to tell her I was safe and doing my duty and would be home soon. These are the hard times every military family goes through.

My fondest memory I have is the day I came back home. It’s hard to describe that moment, that feeling; it’s incredible. That’s the reason all of us at Move America Forward work so hard to make sure we reach every single Marine, Soldier, Airmen and Sailor possible because that day when they come home takes so long for families to get to.

Every generation of my family has served in uniform for as long back as we can trace. My grandfather, a World War II veteran, is my role model and still the one person I want to impress. He once said “There is no higher honor than supporting your country, to protect the freedoms and liberty that it represents. No matter if you serve or support those that do.” I am reminded of those words especially on Veterans Day and whenever I have the honor to talk with someone serving or who has served, their family or one of you that takes the time to think of them by sending a care package with your message of unwavering support. You might have noticed in the care packages that we added a dedication option for our care packages. I encourage you to use it this year, honor their service by paying it forward and sending a care package in their honor.

This Veterans Day, like all others, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so kind and generous to those who have served and for never forgetting all the sacrifice that they make serving our great nation.

Halloween Packing Party

LIVE-STREAM VIDEO: Huge packing party starting now
Our goal is to pack over 700 care packages today!

Action Item: Be sure to get you Halloween care package orders in RIGHT NOW so we can include you order in this huge shipment of much needed care packages.

Right now we are focused on supporting troops deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other hot spots around the world with the comforts of home while they serve abroad. Each care package we send represents the taste of home that means everything while serving so far from home. Most of our deployed troops have already served multiple deployments and many will remain deployed until the end of the year.

When you make your donation you will be sending these troops special Halloween Care Packages that include “Spooktacular” fall treats like Special Pumpkin Spice Premium Coffee, yummy colorful Candy Corn and some Halloween decorations to make a spooky barracks or office.

This is your chance to reach the men and women
who need it most,

Right now many families start to carve pumpkins,  get costumes ready and prepare to trick or treat in their neighborhoods. But for our troops in the field it’s another long day on patrol spent thinking of home & loved ones. They remain vigilant thousands of miles away from home so that we can all be safe.

You can make a difference by sending them some support in the form of a Holiday Care Package. The treats and the Personal Message From You might be the only thing they receive all year at Mail-Call for the entire time they are away from their family and loved ones. It could be the one thing that keeps them strong during the fight. Knowing they have your personal support makes a huge difference!!

The Holiday Care Packages this year include Special Pumpkin Spice Premium Coffee, candy corn, and Halloween decorations that will bring warm memories of family and home to even the farthest reaches of Iraq or Afghanistan. Items like Candy Corn for any sweet tooth in the unit and of course all the other great items the troops want make these Care Packages perfect for doing some good this Halloween.

Help Needed for Care Package Postage

As you may have heard, we have a problem.

We have supplies to ship 1,000 boxes of care packages, but without money for postage all these boxes full of girl scout cookies, coffee, personal hygiene packs, and socks are just sitting here in our Sacramento warehouse.  We need your help to purchase postage and get them out of our warehouse, where they are doing no good, and over to Afghanistan and Iraq, to our troops that so desperately need them.

Total fundraising comes to $1,697.40 so far, enough to ship 123 boxes. 877 are remaining in the warehouse! Not a bad start, but we still have to raise $12,102.60 to reach our goal!

You can sponsor TWO care packages for practically the same price as one regular care package, because we have the product already we just need $13.80 per box to send them to our troops!

These packages mean so much to the troops who receive them. They often write back to tell us just how much of a positive impact these care packages make. The items within provide a huge benefit, but even more is the morale boost they get from knowing they are loved and supported by patriotic Americans who they’ve never even met. Here’s an example of a letter we recently received:

Help send more support to troops like the ones above by getting the remaining 877 boxes out of our warehouse. We’ve got a ton of Girl Scout Cookies, long extra-thick boot socks, and personal hygiene packs full of soap, sun screen, toothbrushes, bug repellent, lip palm, and many other items boxed up and ready to go, but we don’t have the postage to mail them

The cost to mail each box is $13.80 from the USPS.  That means that we urgently need to raise $13,800 ASAP.  Will you please help us purchase the postage to mail these See’s Candies and Girl Scout Cookies to our troops?

14 Years After 9/11 Do You Still Support the Troops?

You Never Forgot 9/11, but
Do You Still Support the Troops?

Here at MAF, our way of coping with terrible anniversaries like today, is to find a positive outlet for the grief we still feel as a nation. America is still locked in a global War on Terror that began when that first plane hit the World Trade Center towers.

What better way to honor the victims that were lost, than to support the troops who are working to make sure it never happens again. In Iraq and Afghanistan, thousands of our troops are training local forces and standing guard to make sure that Iraq and Afghanistan don’t fall to the Al Qaeda, the Taliban, or ISISOur troops are on important missions to stop the spread of Islamic terror and we must continue to support them!

Right now, we’re in the midst of shipping out hundreds of care packages to troops still serving on the front lines of the war on terror…will you join us?

We have over 600 care packages ready to go, but we’re desperately trying to increase that number that to 800 boxes! Donate today and make it happen!

Sponsor a care package & help us send the message to our troops on 9/11:

We still support you and and are grateful for keeping us safe at home!
Here are some photos of the packages being prepared and shipped out today!

Today is the 14th anniversary of the horrific terrorist attack ever perpetrated. 9/11/2001 was the tragic event that woke up this nation and forced us to confront a threat that had been ignored for too long. Now, 14 years later and we still have American troops deployed in countries around the world on various missions to counter the numerous terrorist groups operating in the shadows.

We also haven’t forgotten that just three years ago, on 9/11/2012, terrorists used that anniversary to stage another attack on America, our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, an attach which killed four Americans. We still mourn the loss of Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith, former Navy SEALS Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, and our Ambassador Chris Stevens.

We must never allow our fellow Americans to forget 9/11 or what it means. The terror attacks that struck that day showed us the danger of Islamic jihadists that caught us off guard. Every year on 9/11, we must remind our fellow Americans that our enemies are still out there plotting more attacks trying to bring down our way of life.

Never forget that we still have troops in harm’s way. Many of the young men and women serving in the armed forces today can remember when the towers fell. A good many of our troops joined the armed forces as a direct response to 9/11. Our country was under attack and they rose to defend it… support them and give them thanks for their sacrifice!

Don’t let those men and women still in harm’s way be forgotten! We have to raise another 200 care packages by tomorrow to complete our shipment! Help us get there!

If we can get just 50 people to sponsor a $99 care package, we will reach our goal.

9/11 Memorial and Tribute 2015

9/11 – Never Forget

Today, marks one of the darkest days in American history. 14 years ago today, the terrorists declared war on all Americans, and attacked innocent civilians, killing thousands of Americans and people from around the world. People of every race, religion and creed, have been slaughtered by the radical Islamic terrorists of Al Qaeda and it’s subsequent spawns. All killed in a jihad on America, a war against freedom and liberty.Young people growing up today were born after the 2011 attack and see a world that had been changed irrevocably by the terrorists. Some of them may not understand how drastically the world changed that day.

Remembering 9/11 and sharing that experience with others is the best way to educate those who don’t understand or may have forgotten the kind of evil we are still fighting today.

For the past couple years, MAF has been invited by John Vinson and his family to help them put up a huge memorial flag display to mark the anniversary of the terrorist attacks. This year, MAF put together a video showing John and his team of volunteers placing the flags in the ground.

John Vinson says that when he woke up September 11th, 2001, and heard about what had happened in New York City, he was confused, afraid, frustrated and angry. He channeled his anger by picking up an American flag and going to a freeway overpass and simply waving it proudly and defiantly at the enemy, for all the passing motorists to see. Those that passed by and saw him waving the colors honked and cheered and encouraged him.

John Vinson, who started the annual display and wife Nancy
Over the years John has continued to fly the flag every 9/11, except today he has well over 4,000 flags to fly and he’s moved from the freeway overpass to a field in view of a busy street in West Sacramento. But his idea is the same as ever, to fly the flag (now a collection of flags laid out as a memorial to the fallen) in defiance of those who would try to destroy our freedom.
The 9/11 memorial grows larger each year

We appreciate the efforts of people like John Vinson, or the countless other patriots around the country who are flying their flags today, supporting our troops. If you haven’t already figured out how YOU will remind people of what today means, please think now, figure out WHAT YOU CAN DO with the tools God gave you, to remind your fellow Americans that we have been attacked, and we are at war, and we have brave troops that need our support!

Here at Move America Forward we continue our diligent efforts to support our troops with care packages and support from home.

Today, to honor the victims of 9/11 and those troops who have given their lives in the War on Terror, we are sending a shipment of over 600 care packages to troops still deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Can you sponsor a care package today? We would like to send 800 care packages and with your help and donations we can!

JR Rogers Shares His Family Story on Troopathon

We have written often about our great partnership with Roger’s Family Company and the coffee they roast locally here in Sacramento that goes into every care package we send to the troops. Now you can hear about it from J.R. Rogers himself, who joined us for this years Troopathon and was interviewed by Rita Cosby. J.R. talks about his family’s appreciation for the military and what it means to them to be a part of such a great effort!

MAF is proud and thankful for the opportunity to include Rogers Family Company gourmet coffee in all of our care packages to our troops. Please take the time to spread some holiday cheer and provide our troops with a special package including Rogers Family Company coffee and other delicious seasonal treats!

We have a wide variety of Rogers coffee in our warehouse in many different flavors and roasts such as French Roast, Espresso Roast, Hazelnut, Southern Pecan, Breakfast Blend, Irish Creme, Colombian, and the 100% organic Rainforest blend. Rogers coffee is a very important part of our care packages! We’ve set a goal for Operation: Coffee Drip! to send a huge $5,000 batch of freshly roasted gourmet coffee to keep our troops on the front lines alert and energized on all of their most important jobs. So far we have raised $1,500 towards our goal! Help us reach $5,000 by next week!

Strong Start for Operation Coffee Drip

Recently we received a letter from a commander in Afghanistan who says that her troops love the gourmet coffee we send them, thanks to our partnership with Roger’s Family Company.

She also wrote about one of her soldiers who never seems to get mail, so we’ve decided to send the whole unit a bunch of coffee! So far we have raised about $1,500 toward our goal of $5,000!

It’s Friday! Here’s a Great Video to Start Your Weekend!

This is an awesome video made last year when Roger’s Family Company visited ouf office to see our volunteers in action packing their coffee into boxes for the troops.

Have you heard? Urgent request from troops!

Have you heard yet?We received an urgent direct request for supplies from the the U.S. Army Area Support Medical Company serving on he front-lines in Afghanistan (request letter below).I know that we don’t have to explain to you the important and vital role these medics play in the military. We need your immediate support so that we can take care of the guys and gals that take care of America’s bravest!

Thank you to those that have stepped up so far, but unfortunately, we have only raised $800 so far, and still need to raise $4,200 to reach our goal.

This is no time to get caught up in the buzz about who’s leading in the polls. Politics can be interesting sure, but our troops overseas are much more important. They’re risking their lives RIGHT NOW to keep America safe, and we can’t forget that or be too distracted by the 24-hour news cycle! We must constantly keep reminding our troops that they are remembered, that they are valued and appreciated. We owe everything to our troops!

In the letter they wrote to us below, the medics talk about how hot it is over there during the Summer, 122 degrees! Most of us can’t even imagine what that feels like, let alone having to go out on patrol for 8 hours, carrying 60 pounds of gear. Luckily our care packages have several great items to help our troops keep cool, like sunblock, lip balm, Hoo-ahhs field towels and best of all Gatorade to turn that bottle of water into a tasty refreshing treat of a drink!

Here is the letter we received after contacting those medics deployed overseas

You would be surprised how many troops write back to us saying that the care package we sent was the only mail they had received all year. Spending a 6-12 month deployment overseas with little or no mail from home can be discouraging or even depressing. Don’t let our troops be forgotten!

Schumer Under Attack from His Own Party Over Iran Deal

Far-Left Libs Attack Schumer For Standing Up to Obama
Also: Pundits Supporting Iran Deal Trash Constitution

Last week New York Senator Chuck Schumer announced his opposition to President Barack Obama’s Iran deal for a whole host of reasons. In response to Schumer stepping out of line, the far-left has mobilized their legions of wide-eyed empty-headed base to attack Schumer and bully him to get with their program or face their wrath.

Schumer cited several of the weaknesses in Obama’s deal, it gives Iran multiple ways of delaying inspections for up to 24 days, or tying up inspectors in red tape which would afford Iran plenty of time to hide what they don’t want inspectors to see.

Schumer also took issue with the $140 billion dollar cash windfall that Iran could use for whatever purposes they want. The fact that the agreement does nothing to curb Iran’s other terrorist-supporting activities, means most of that $140 would probably go towards continuing their multiple ongoing proxy wars destabilizing the whole Middle East.

Anti-War Donors Pledge To Withhold $8.3 Million In Potential Donations From Schumer, Iran Deal Opponents
More than 17,000 MoveOn members have said they won’t donate to anyone against the deal.
…In less than 24 hours since Schumer’s announcement, 17,636 members of MoveOn, a progressive advocacy group, have committed to withhold $8.3 million they would have contributed to Schumer and other Democrats who oppose the Iran deal, the group told The Huffington Post on Friday.Jessica Schulberg, writing for HuffingtonPost.Com

The left is mobilizing their minions to strong-arm and threaten any Democrats who might be thinking of voting with their conscience. You must keep up your efforts all of you patriots and organizations out there who have banded together to oppose Obama’s suicidal nuclear deal with Iran.

We have had an effect but the battle is just beginning! We must fight back against the far-left’s many activists who will be trying to counter our efforts! Keep up the phone calls, the donations, the social media posts, the letters to members offices and everything else you are doing!

Journos who Favor Iran Deal Trash the Constitution and the Role of Congress in Order to Support Obama’s Crazy Deal with the Devil.

Liberals have become particularly nasty in their response to criticism of Obama and his Iran deal. So much so that they’re now willing to openly trash the Constitution and seem to favor the way Obama is circumventing the rule of law and take away the power of Congress to ratify treaties as laid out by our Founding Fathers.

This weekend in Politico, Sandy Berger, who was Bill Clinton’s old NSA adviser, wrote, “Rejection fundamentally shifts the balance of power on Iran from the president to Congress in a way that makes a future agreement virtually impossible to achieve. Voting no deprives this President, or a future president, of bargaining power over the Iranians.”

But if the Constitution states that Congress MUST ratify treaties that the President negotiates, it’s really a fundamental shift AWAY from the Constitution if the Congress is forced to just rubber stamp everything the President does. Berger talks about how this diminishes the President’s powers as if it’s a bad thing.

The whole point of the Constitution is to limit the powers of each branch of government because the founding fathers knew what kind of disaster could happen if one man has too much! Liberals just see our founding documents as an annoying impediment to their radical agenda.

On the website for Foreign Policy magazine, Jeffrey Lewis wrote, “…Congress is a ‘branch of government’ in precisely the same way that college basketball fans are a ‘sixth man.’ We don’t let fans call plays, other than as some kind of preseason stunt. I am not particularly interested in congressional views about the Iran deal.”

If your jaw doesn’t just drop at the arrogance and contempt dripping off his statement, it should have! Notice the sarcasm with which he puts ‘branch of government’ in quotes as though the legislature should not be considered equally as important to the President or the Supreme Court.

And why? Because the Congress is led by Republican majorities in the House and Senate and since they’re unwilling to go along with Obama’s horrible Iran deal, now this guy who ironically calls himself a wonk in his twitter handle, seems to think we don’t really need Congress anymore.

It’s disgusting how quickly these pundits want to throw away the institutions of government which we’ve relied on for hundreds of years because they want to ram their awful policies through without having to withstand critical analysis by representatives elected from the people to be our voice. No doubt, if this were the other way around, if we had a Republican president trying to pass something through a Democrat-led Congress, these same people would be screaming “The President has too much power anyways! Congress should really have the power!”

These are just a few examples of the all-out lies that the leftist media are willing to tell because they know Obama’s deal with Iran is unpopular. According to polls, two thirds of the American people oppose the deal, and only in a few polls where the questions are extremely biased show any sort of support for Obama’s deal at all. But Obama and his supporters in the mass media and the anti-military activist crowd will say ANYTHING to jam this through Congress for the sake of Obama’s legacy.

Donate now to help us keep fighting to stop Obama’s bad deal with Iran.
